Throws very hard which is apparently very bad for his arm Nick Burdi has a significant forearm strain and will miss the rest of the season for the Pirates. Tough break for the former Twins draft pick.

Robbie Grossman is absolutely raking this season. 1.073 OPS. Batting average .306, but more importantly his OBP is .460. He also has 4 stolen bases. Nice player.

Ron Perranoski has passed away. Most of his success came as a Dodger, but he led the AL in saves in 1969 and 1971 as a Minnesota Twin.

The Tigers found the offensive upgrade they needed and broke their trend of one-year contracts to do it. On Tuesday, they signed outfielder Robbie Grossman to a two-year, $10 million contract. The deal includes up to $500,000 each season in performance bonuses based on playing time -- $250,000 at 500 and 550 plate appearances, according to a source. The deal is a milepost for the Tigers in their rebuild.
