Nice to see all the color return to the ML All Star game this year.
Tons of talent from outside the US
And some wonderful young black American stars
The game needs that
For a couple years it had started to look like if you weren't a young rich white kid the game didn't want you.

http://www.startribune.com/oswaldo-arcia-says-twins-didn-t-give-him-chance-to-show-what-he-could-do/386627741/

Arcia didn't think the Twins gave him the chance to show what he could be.

40 at bats with Tampa, 1 HR, 4 rbi's

slash of .225/.289/.350/.639 74 ops+

Let's not forget 2015 with the Twins

.276 .338 .379 .718 in 58 at bats......doesn't seem to bad but only 2 HR and 8 rbi's

After he got sent down, he posted: .199 .257 .372 .630 at Rochester in 282 at bats

Yeah, maybe because Arcia is young, Twins pulled the plug on him too soon. But he was as bad an outfield as Delmon Young and the Hammer and at times would show promise and then revert back to trying to hit every ball 500 ft.

Arcia is 0-July. 23 plate appearances, 3 walks, 10 strikeouts. has 60 strikeouts in 143 at bats this year. Was time to move on.

He seemed to be getting it in 2014 when he hit 20 HR's, 57 rbi's in 372 at bats and posted an OPS+ of 108. He seemed to listen to Bruno's instructions to keep the swing compact and not to have a big loop. Then he reverted back to his big looping swing. Came up this year and in some limited duty early on, seemed to have gotten the message and then went back to the disaster. But his unwillingness at Rochester last year to address his problems......I think the Twins have been sufficiently patient.

On top of it, he is as much a disaster in the outfield as Sano has been. Difference......Sano had zero experience in the outfield. Arcia has always been an outfielder and always been a bad outfielder.

If he ever gets it, great. We have too many other young players that I want to see get at bats to have them taken away by Arcia trying to hit tape measure homers like Giancarlo Stanton

I'm saying now ... I'm plenty OK with moving on from that trainwreck.
And I'll say it then, too. [:D]

Can only hit your thumb with a hammer so many times .... before you just can't blame anyone else
Vargas seemed similar, and now he seems to be much better.
Will it last?
We can all hope.

One huge question mark at a time, please.
The problem is, this org likes to pile up a half dozen HOPES, a half dozen MAYBES, and a half dozen Miracles, and call it a great roster.
One at a time, please.

Funny thing with Vargas was his average was bat at AAA but he drew a lot of walks.
Now he's been AL player of the week with 8 xbh

Good for him.
When others get healthy, he'll likely be first man out. And that's just not right at this point.

Arcia was 'blocking' Kepler. Kepler has some holes in his D, but is a ton better in plate approach as well as production.

Rosario will be next. Can he ever show enough discipline?

His good fortune is that currently, there are no more OF's pushing. Palka has the power, but flails at a huge rate.
