Sorry I was unable to join you all for the game last night. On vacation visiting family. Man we should have closed this out. Oh well last year we won at home lost on the road in the first round. Turned out just fine. Hoping for a repeat.

I watched, just didn't post. This should have ended in regulation. 3 pt lead, foul them, don't give them opportunity to tie it with 3 pt shot

I was struck by the disparity in coaching; perhaps it was a mistaken perception on my part, but the Storm coach seemed to be engaged and engaging with the players while the Lynx coach just looked stunned. The players were looking to the bench to decide if/when to call timeouts and I'm not sure our coach even knew what she wanted to do. That seemed to be the difference, because as Jim noted,
quote:

Several other examples as well, but we couldn't close out on their floor. Good thing we're coming back home for the final game and have HC advantage throughout the playoffs (is that true, if/when we go to the finals?)...

I guess RR will give away 500 tickets today and Cub foods will give 2 tickets for 2 bags of grocery. Not sure if that's for personal use or food shelfs

That didn't occur to me, but you are brilliant. Just like a "foul to give" situation. The Storm had no more timeouts, so if they had the ball one more time after their own foul (which they would have done for sure), they would have to bring it up the full court with about 2 seconds left.

I'm a big fan of hers, so this may be a skewed look, but to me, if she isn't being a big part of the game, we're not that great.

I think part of it is that we're so unselfish, we kind of need her to force our offense. Every time I think how great it would be to have Tina Charles on this team, I'm reminded of how vital Lindsay is.

Maya is the player that really needs to get more agressive - and not settle so for jumpers so often.

2 seconds left on the clock and Maya Moore was guarding against the drive with the ball on the perimeter.

Is this a matchup problem, or a veteran club that simply knows how to play problem?
Because we do not seem to be better than them.
They were a below-.500 team in the reg season. (16-18)

I'll take this win.
Up next, the LA sharks. They aren't nearly as good a defensive team as Seattle so the Lynx offense may get back on track.

And so it shall be : all times CT

That game showed how important Whalen is to the team. Even though she was severely restricted with her left hand, the Lynx would lose if she was unable to come back. Is that part indictment that they haven't spent enough time developing backups during the regular season?

Regarding backups, although Taj continued to be a force, it seemed that she was running below running-on-fumes. I though we should have seen more of Peters; however, that may be another case of not-quite-ready for prime time because she hasn't seen enough PT.

Wild ride, it was. Nice that the Lynx are moving on!
