Augustus with some big baskets late. I think she will win the MVP. That is my prediction with two minutes to go.

Angel is just going through the motions.

She may score a lot of points in the regular season, but she's not a superstar.

Last time the Lynx played the Dream in the finals I thought McCoughtry was pretty spectacular. Also she got her team to the finals so I don't think that is a fair assessment.

Super talented, but too much Allen Iverson for me. Gunner and a headcase. Fever have often been better this series with her on the bench.

Yes but this is just one series. Once again she got them here and she was incredible in the last finals. So if you are basing her superstardom on this series she is not. You base it on her career and she is.

I am basing it on her career. She's too much of a frontrunner for me. She falls apart when things aren't going well.

She's a star, but she's not a superstar.

She's also not a player that I'd want on the Lynx. Too selfish.

Moore with the big game tonight. Augustus with the big first two games. I know this game will be more weighted in the MVP voting but I think any of our three olympians could win it.

I won't let this one go. Three finals in four years. Two scoring titles. The other two finals she was over 20 points five in a row. She is a superstar. If she isn't than any other star player who hasn't won a title isn't. Her pedigree her record speaks for itself.

I'm not asking you to let it go. We almost never agree on anything basketball-wise anyways.

Moore with the MVP and I just wish it could be a three or four way tie for it. Maya almost embarrassed to accept the MVP. I am not saying she doesn't deserve but others deserve it just as much.

Riverview is my favorite theater in the Twin Cities. That would have been fun to be there.

@richarddeitsch
@MooreMaya: Two WNBA titles, two NCAA championships, one Olympic gold medal. 24 years old.

@KButter5
Maya Moore might end up being the most decorated women's basketball player ever when it's all said and done.

Great season. You could see they were laser focused when the playoffs started. They had the look of a team on a mission from the beginning. Augustus even acknowledged that even one win away from the title, last year's loss was still eating at her. It was great to watch different players step up at crucial times tonight. McCarville stepped up in the first (loved the steal, breakaway and backward pass between her legs to Brunson), when the Dream started a rally in the 2nd Whalen took over. Then it was Moore and Augustus in the second half. Brunson was just Brunson. Rock solid and consistent on both ends of the floor from the opening tap of the playoffs until they received the championship trophy.

Yeah. That was ... weird. Even after they turned it over down by seven, they had a chance, at least in theory. Crazy that they wouldn't try.

This was the 4th time.

The 2000 Comets and 2002 Sparks went 6-0.

The 2010 Storm went 7-0.

On McCoughtry, I am more with David. She is a great offensive player, but I wouldn't put in her in the league superstar class of player. The great players don't become unravelled the way she did in this series. She had the look of a player who had thrown in the towel tonight. In the second half the Dream were actually better when she was off the floor.

Never mind the between the legs pass --- when was the last time you saw a center steal the ball, run the fast break, and dish it to the power forward for the finish?

@KDTrey5 bruh how you feel knowing that your girl bout to win a ring before you?

Kevin Durant @KDTrey5
@pdgraham30 I love it!!! She's the better player anyway

Durant's official comments:

quote:

"Unbelievable," Durant said of Wright’s achievement. "I’m excited for her, proud of her for helping her team win a championship. It’s kind of tears of joy, I almost shed one for her. She’s my future wife and she’s got more championships than I do."
