Here's a pretty nice mock I was able to do on the FanSpeak simulator.

22: R1P22
WR HENRY RUGGS III
ALABAMA
25: R1P25
EDGE K'LAVON CHAISSON
LSU
58: R2P26
CB JEFF GLADNEY
TCU
89: R3P25
C TYLER BIADASZ
WISCONSIN
105: R3P41
OT LUCAS NIANG
TCU
132: R4P26
RB ANTONIO GIBSON
MEMPHIS
155: R5P9
G JONAH JACKSON
OHIO STATE
201: R6P22
G JON RUNYAN
MICHIGAN
205: R6P26
DL RAEQUAN WILLIAMS
MICHIGAN STATE
219: R7P5
QB ANTHONY GORDON
WASHINGTON STATE
249: R7P35
LB TANNER MUSE
CLEMSON
253: R7P39
EDGE KENDALL COLEMAN
SYRACUSE

Got Ruggs for the first time and still got Chaisson and one of the best CBs. Got solid OL with depth, but no great OL. The RB Gibson is expected to play WR in the NFL with some great gadget play potential. The LB Muse is expected to play Safety in the NFL.

quote:

TYLER BIADASZ

We need a plug-in solid left guard as part of this draft....

Biadasz——He plays under control and usually hits his landmarks, but he has issues winning when matched against power. Pass protection could be a concern, as NFL sub-rushers will feast on his lunging and average lateral quickness. Biadasz's skill level has been developed, so he could become an early starter with limited upside.
.

.

That's about as negative as a take on him as you are going to find.

IMO the only 2 wr's I'd consider in rd 1 would be Lamb and Jeudy.

Both are extremely polished route runners with speed and good hands.

wr and qb seem to have a higher 1st rd bust rate than most other positions.

Jeudy has some very poor combine #s for what you would expect from the first or second WR in the draft. That said if he's available at 22 I'm pouncing.

And since there are so many quality receivers in this draft, it seems to me that we can get quality in round two. I remember we drafted Qadry Ismail (the Missile) in round two once. (and Sammy White too)

Chase Claypool is an extremely intruiging prospect to say the least.

Quite certain Jeudy will not be there.

Not sure how people can completely discount years of actual game tape for a day in shorts?

Denzel Mims is Linked to us in many Mock drafts at either #22/25. He was a beast in shorts, but somewhat carries the stigma of past “Baylor” WR’s that have failed at the next level-
Kendall Wright
Terrance Williams
Corey Coleman

I love this kids hands, ball skills, athleticism, and his desire.

Not sure about his route running, or YAC ability..

Would’ve loved him in the 3rd round (Pre-combine)

Looking at the trade value chart, it looks like the Vikings would have to sacrifice their two third round selections, as well as their fourth and fifth rounds to offer enough to get back significantly into the second round. It feels like that is more than Spielmann will want to spare but you never know. If there is a compelling player who is available whom they rate very highly- even as a top of the second round grade- the team might trade up. I guess there is always the option of trading a pick from next years draft, too. Probably not, though. Spielmann normally likes to trade down from the middle of the draft.

Most sites I see have Jones ahead of Jackson. Their is an outside chance one of the top 4 will fall to us. However, we need a guard more than we need a tackle and Some have Cesar Ruiz rated as highly as Jackson and Jones so don't disregard him as our potential 1st round OL.

Watching this Tuska kid reminds me a lot of Jared Allen. I am not saying that he is as good, blah, blah, blah, I am saying he reminds me a lot of him when he was coming out of Idaho, same kind of energy and relentless pursuit. He's be a guy to take a flyer on in day three.

I am reading that he would be a first rounder if it weren't for an injury. It's hard for the teams to evaluate injuries these days with the virus situation. I'm assuming you are referring to Terrell Lewis. I'm thinking that he might be there for us with our second round pick, but probably not for our third rounder. It looks like he's a potential starter and stud if he can stay healthy, but he missed parts of two seasons in Alabama.

Nice thing about him is he is comfortable on either side. FCS doesn't have the big athletic Tackles so level of competition is a worry but he looks to have some Jared Allen/Aaron Kampmann in him.

Like Hercules Mata'afa, he may not get himself drafted. There are questions about which position he should play in the NFL. They were both extremely successful in college.

I've been assuming that with Okudah and Henderson gone the best CB for us to draft would be Fulton. I check him out on NFL.Com and they have him as the #10 CB. Jaylon Johnson is 3rd. I am going to take a closer look at my CB rankings.

Jackson appears to have way more upside, much better measurables and athleticism than Jones as an NFL LT. Jackson's run blocking is miles better on walter football's site.

Some sites have Jones as a day 3 pick others a late 1st rder.

Watching some WR highlights and the thing that amazes me about Laviska Shenault is not only his WR prowess, but they also use him as wildcat QB and as their Goal Line RB. Don't think I've ever seen that before.

However the MOST ATTRACTIVE trait for any backup to Cousins is zero chance of ascension.

Luke Braun on Twitter likes this player. He says he can fall to the third round because he didn't test at the combine and now there's no Pro day.

NFL.com sure likes him a lot. I've been doing mocks at a variety of sites and I typically get him in the 4th.

A new mock draft is out. As we get closer to draft day, the mocks should be getting more accurate. Perhaps the good thing to do is review who the players are around 22-25. Here's the list from this mock. It's interesting that so many of the players are from LSU or TCU. Unless there is a major trade, I would expect that two of these players will be a Viking. Since I am ruling out LB, and maybe I shouldn't, this would limit it to 14 players. Narrowing down who the player selected in the second round is nearly impossible. It depends so much on who is drafted in the first and who slides/ or if there is a trade. So anyway, I am suggesting that we focus on these players. Am I ruling out someone I should? Wait. I'm going to add some of the players the mock has going in the second round. That's five more players for a total of 19. Wow. That's a lot of players. Anyway, it is what it is.

C.J. Henderson CB Florida

K'Lavon Chaisson Edge LSU

Mekhi Becton OT Louisville

Kristian Fulton CB LSU

Xavier McKinney S Alabama

Denzel Mims WR Baylor

Justin Jefferson WR LSU

Kenneth Murray LB Oklahoma (I would be shocked if he is the choice)

Patrick Queen LB LSU (doubt it, too)

Jeff Gladney CB TCU

Cesar Ruiz IOL Michigan

Yetur Gross-Matos Edge Penn State

Jalen Reagor WR TCU

A.J. Epenesa Edge Iowa

Laviska Shenault Jr. WR Colorado

Ross Blacklock DT TCU

******************

Josh Jones OT Houston

Tee Higgins WR Clemson

Justin Madubuike DT Texas A&M

Austin Jackson OT USC

Noah Igbinoghene CB Auburn

As you can see, some of these players will definitely fall to the second round. I am going to beat the drum for a trade up in the second round. I would like to see three starters from this draft.
