A thoughtful mock that I happen to like a lot.

I really like this first round mock:

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock-draft/expert/chris-trapasso/

I think a disruptive 3 technique is an under rated need. I'd consider moving up a little to get Kinlaw.

Fill 2 needs

22. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

(10-6) Javon Kinlaw, DL, South Carolina: Kinlaw is a the best pass-rushing interior defensive lineman in the class and helps the Vikings to reload on defense.

25. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

(10-6) Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor: With Mims, the Vikings get the fastest-rising receiver in this class with sub-4.4 speed and a rebounder's mentality in jump-ball situations.

Is it realistic to believe Kinlaw will last until #22? I don't know. I guess it's possible.

I agree it would be wonderful if he could be selected by our team. Combined with Harris, our interior defensive line would be formidable.

He has some knee tendinitis issue.

Maybe that drops him. Maybe we don't want him.

And Derrick Brown to #20?

Hmmm, seems unlikely.

I wouldn't mind a small move up for either one.

I've been responding often on that particular post. Mine was Did I strike gold with this mock.

This is a A- draft. Love the 1st through 4th rd picks. And I don't think Fromm is a bad pick.

That would be excellent. The D Line would become a huge strength again. Mims hopefully would stretch the field, however he is one of those combine risers and they are always risky.

Kinlaw will most likely be gone, but some high rated player will slide to 22. It would be great to get him.

I think we could get him in the 5th round. I would hold out for our KR later. Maybe Joe Reed.

The more I look into Austin Jackson the less I like him. He is totally being projected because of having tools and isn't even likely to be a first year starter. Potential is usually not lived up to. It would be so nice if somehow Thomas were to slide to our pick. Maybe do a trade up for him.

I think Jackson would have had a much better Junior season but he gave bone marrow to his sister in July.

He probably wasn't at full strength until late in year.

PFF does a few good things, but have some very headscratching rankings and I don't give them much credibility. This draft they selected some quite good players for the Vikings, but not even one OL out of 12 picks. They wonder why they get no respect from so many people.

I'm sorry, I just don't see Epenesa as a Vikings pick for so many different reasons. A few other mocks have us taking him as well. I really don't get that. DE is not one of our big areas of need. The Vikings tend to draft DE's that are fast, athletic and explosive. Epenesa doesn't fit the bill in that regard.

It really only makes sense if there is a switch to a 3-4 defense.

My guess is it isn't happening, but bringing in Capers and signing Pierce make it easier to see.

Hunter, Kendricks, Barr and Odenigbo could all easily work at LB in a 3-4.

Epenesa makes sense as a 3-4 DE. Griffen would've worked well on the other side, but maybe they like Watts a lot?

All this talk about us drafting more OLine.

We drafted two guys last year outside of Bradbury that may be ready for fulltime or back up roles. The Vikes may not see that as big of a need as we are here.
I am kind of excited by the prospect of Dru Samia and Oli Udoh getting some reps.

Some reps yes. Counting on both of them to be quality starters no. Don't skimp on the O Line. Get studs from this years draft.

In a trade back to the second with our 25th pick, if we got him I'd be just OK with it, but he is not in my top seven OL guys that I would like to get, hell, really there are other guys with just as good of ceiling in my view we can probably get in the third. I feel he is only being propped up because this isn't a particularly good draft of the OL. I can think of four interior guys I would rather have if he's there in the first and the top five OT's are gone. I'm a UW Huskie fan and I am hoping we avoid Adams also.

I like Udoh too, and to a lesser extent Samia. How about LG? Do you want Reiff to move over? Don't we need to fix that?

We should only move Reiff to guard out of an abundance at OT and a desperate need at the guard spot. We are paying Reiff too much to move him to guard. Trade for Williams and include him in the deal. Either that or keep him at LT. No other move to me makes sense.
