Looks like similar games.....both giving up late goals to end the 1st behind by 1.

1-1 about 10 in to the 2nd. The first was a PP for Tampa and, while our PK has been blah, I can't blame it on that. Good fortune for them. Gus made an incredible save after a redirect and it happened to land on their stick. Ours was typical. KK to JEE on a nice feed and all around great play by those 2 and Zuc.

we started out a little slow and had trouble breaking out but we have our legs now.

1-1 after 2. We looked much better and carried the play but couldn't get a break. 2 really good teams in a good battle.

It's only 10 game in but this team is so much better than the past 2. There hasn't been a bunch of churn and you expect guys like Rossi/Boldy to get better with age but it's much deeper than that. Dare I say that this coaching staff is the best since BB and or JL?

We seem to always know what to do in the situation and there is real conviction to the game. Sure, we make stupid, individual, mistakes but it doesn't ever feel system related anymore.

The clear cut front runner for the Norris Jake Middelton (aka, Darnold for the MVP a couple weeks ago) sets up Faber for a snapper that beats Vassi. 2-1 GG's 5 in the 3rd.

And, just like that, Jake Guentzel ties it. That damn Ben Arnold.

A bit of some heart beat moments late but a 5-3 win over a very good team. A clean sweep against them.

I watched the last 10 minutes after the Gophers game. Nice getting more points against a top team. Much better than we saw the last couple of years like you said.

3 things for me to watch for w/ this team:

1. We still struggle when there is chaos in front of our net (goal 3 for them). It's due to our lack of size and grit at the back.
2. Our PK still stinks
3. KK looks like he was challenged to "get more creative". I don't know if that's true but it loos like it. He's trying all kinds of behind the back, no look ect stuff. When he pulls it off it's spectacular but more often than not it just leads to a TO. This league is too good for that generally.

All in all though, incredible start to the season. To go 3-0 against the FL teams is

Lucky win out there tonight. We were pretty much dominated in the first. We couldn't even get out of our zone. I will continue to refuse our success

Sounds like a shakeup on the 2nd line is needed. Johansson would be the guy I move.

The Wild picked a bad night to have an off night....
I was hoping they would be a little sunlight in an otherwise bleak day.

I was wondering if the Kings were the best team in all of hockey. They were all over us and we weren't stuck in mud. Their press dominated us from the get-go.

??
We controlled play and outshot them badly in the first period, but had no real good chances. Our special teams sucked royal and that is what turned the game to them....

Wow, I’ve seen the Wild in probably 10-15 arenas. This game in Anaheim is the most lame I’ve ever been to 😳

3-0 Wild on 9 shots in under 15 minutes. A great start, just hope they don't run out of gas too soon after playing last night.

You and 27 other people seemed to be there. The last two games that the Wild played were in nearly empty arenas.

Yeah, it was very empty and there was a LOT of Wild fans. Our hotel was full of us last night. I've seen the Wild all over the place. DC, Philly, NYC, MN, Pitts, NC, Tampa just to name a few. Anaheim has clearly been the lamest. They start out by flying two ducks around the crowd. Not live (of course) and not some cool looking, mean-ish, ducks. Standard white ducks and that's it. They aren't in their colors or have jerseys on or anything. All the while the crowd chants "quack"

It was hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

As for the game itself. Not sure how it looked on TV but it was over after the first. They showed no fight at all. Our seats were at the right FO dots if you are the Ducks keeper. We had great access to all the goals. Great seats. Another cool thing (and this is pretty unique, I think). No matter where you sit you are able to go to the glass during warmups. Since we were on the other end we walked to the other side of the rink to watch the boys. It was awesome for my kids to see those guys up close like that. KK's lip/cut is no joke. Looking at it up close, that had to hurt like hell.

2nd over and we are up 1-0 but it's been far from pretty. In fact, it's been downright ugly. That being said:

1. Brodin didn't suite up
2. Zuch out early in the first
3. JEE wasn't far behind him

Neither has returned so it's been a line shuffle acrobat show from the coaching staff.

2-0 on a Rossi PP goal with 6 to go but we are on the PK. Not sure how this ends but let me say this:

Hynes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Deano (and I like Dean).

Gus hasn't had to be brilliant tonight but he's been steady. Exactly what I want out of a keeper. Quiet and steady.

3-zip win. Not a "great win" as Montreal is 'blah' but it was a professional win. Onward and up. Curious to see how we stack against Dallas/Jets ect.
