I think JJM has some maturity issues that aren't helping his image.

There is upside in drafting a guy young but there is also downside which we're experiencing with him.

I tried to tell you guys McCarthy wasn't prepared to be an NFL quarterback the day we drafted him. Got nothing but pushback.

That's because most people are reasonable human beings that refuse to give up on a player before they've had a chance to play a snap.

I gave reasons. You guys ignored them. I said I would have rather had drafted Bo Nix.

I think it calls in to question about KOC. That HAD to be his decision. I still say it's way too early to give up on the kid but it all sounds like the issues are between his head and not his upside. That said, it's pretty astonishing how much trust the Wilf's are putting in KOC. To give a guy this much power when he's never even won a playoff game is pretty unheard of.

His call after ever effort to get Drake Maye fell through. Maybe.

McCarthy was part of Kwesi’s analytics driven roster building. Reports were that KOC had a good interview with the kid and liked him, but not THAT much. Kwesi was obsessed with have a starting QB on a rookie contract. When he couldn't get May, he made sure to get McCarthy. Kwesi blew off KOC when he tried to tell him that McCarthy wasn't ready and they needed to keep Darnold or Jones.

I don't think Kwesi blew off KOC. He did make an offer to Darnold...albeit nowhere close to what Seattle did. He Did offer Jones MORE than the Colts did but wouldn't guarantee him the starting job... and that's what Jones jumped for.

The offer to Darnold wasn't even a real offer. Yes, Jones read the tea leaves and knew he was only a stop gap here no matter what.

I am just saying Kwesi didn't blow KOC off there.

I, for the record, am perfectly happy Kwesi is gone.

Let's not pretend you were on an island alone. I was questioning his measly 150 yards a game and definitely wasn't in love with the selection. I want him to succeed but it feels like the leash is getting shorter. For good reason. Its put up or shut up time for JJ.

If that's true (and I have no reason to think it's not but I don't live in MN) that's astonishing that it's been kept under "wraps". Maybe that's pretty well known in TC's but I can tell you, it's not nationally. The national narative is that KOC made/makes all the decisions with regards to the QB room. It may be a lazy take, but that what it is.

Richard ... this is not directed at you, I have taken the bait many times ... I'm just responding in the moment because there's no end to it.

Brad doesn't even believe what he's posting ... he remembers full well McCarthy had both fans and critics.

Baiting is his only way of getting a response in here.

When are we going to ignore this troll and stop allowing him to make the conversation about himself (not the Vikings)?

I can't believe we're incapable of ignoring his stupid bullshit.

I have a feeling Murray will be given the job, it's not going to sit well with McCarthy, things will boil, and he will be traded for a song, his value isn't that high.

I hope I am wrong about this, I would keep McCarthy, he has the competitive fire and has potential, keep him for a few more years and see how things play out.

That said, I am now aboard the train that is excited to see what Murray can do in the KOC offense, and simultaneously what Flores will do with some new toys.

You are right, he did have a critic......me.

Do you actually read the stuff you post?

The day we drafted McCarthy I was off the rails about how bad of a pick it was. In fact, I voiced my displeasure for weeks before the pick.

The rest of you guys always give the same milquetoast responses. I hope he's okay. I have high hopes. We'll have to wait and see. Nothing concrete!

I gave reasons he would not be good. There's a big difference.

In order to be a critic, one has to be critical!

Kyler Murray will be the starting quarterback.
