Status: online 		It was 2-1 Avs when I tuned in last night and we never looked like we were in the game. Gus didn't control any shots into his chest and that isn't a good sign. So does Hynes go back to Wally or give Gus another chance? It probably doesn't matter at this point the way the Avs are playing. That is a team on a mission and they appear to be hitting on all cylinders right now. We can hang with them for a while but they just keep coming in waves and missing Ek and Brodin doesn't make it any easier.

Status: offline 		I don't know how Hynes doesn't go back to Wallstedt. First goal was from between the circles with an unobstructed view. Gus didn't even move as the puck went right by his glove. Second goal, he had no chance. Third goal much like the first, except it was stick side with Gus not moving. The fourth wasn't quite as bad, but Jesper had no problem stopping those in the Dallas series. If Gus just made the saves he should have made, this is a different game.

Status: offline 		No matter the goalie, I’m ready to call this one. Colorado is just better. The wild may steal a game or even two. But at this point, beating them four out of five seems impossible.

It was a nice run. Kudos to them for getting past Dallas. It’s over for this year. Their window is still open. Plug some holes in the off-season and get better.

I think I have to agree on this one. The Avs just look to strong and at times appear to be just toying with us. We don't the horses to hang with them and it shows.
BG has some work to do this summer to get to the next level where the Avs are currently.

Middleton is hot garbage right now
Our ST's have gone back to sucking ass again
Boldy had an off night

But, let me be the bad guy again.

Our "leaders" are soft as hell. Spurg, really? KK?? For various reasons neither of these guys are going to ever win a cup. JEE would if he could stay healthy. Boldy could. Faber could. I'm torn on Hughes at this point.

Look at what the Avs leaders have done. Remember Toewes? Guys that will rip your head off and score a hatty. We have one guy like that and he can't stay healthy.

Our guys are Austin Matthews-ish. Talented....but?????

Status: online 		BTW - I have heard several opinions that the move back to Gus killed the room. I'm not sure but I can sure see it being a "phycho desperation" white flag to the players.

Status: online 		Just another year in which we have to use the expression "we'll get 'em next year" for one of our Minnesota sports teams. Although we've had some very interesting exceptions - - - women's sports. Between the Lynx and the Frost, we've had the chance to see what it feels like to see our team take home the trophy.

I've already just resigned myself that seeing the Vikings win a Superbowl might not happen in my lifetime. But boy, it sure was looking like the Wild might finally break that mold.

Status: online 		It sure doesn't help when Gus gives up a softy at the beginning of almost every period. Now what does Hynes do? Go back to Wally or stay with Gus? They need to decide before Saturday if Wally is our goalie of the future or if Gus is. I don't see them both on this team to start next season. One or the other will be traded for prospects or picks that can be packaged for a true 1C.
I think Saturday will go a long ways towards telling us what BG does with this group. I really think this needs to be the last hurrah for the over 30 guys in this group.

Status: online 		I've really liked a lot of what Hynes has done. Was a bit worried about his playoff history and then he out coached Dallas. I was pretty excited. If he goes back to Gus, i'm out on him. I'm not saying Wally wins us this series but he's clearly the future and if you let Gus continue to suck....we can't trade him for a bag of pucks at this point.

His opinion is that starting Gus last night gives the Wall a fresh start next game. He thinks Ek and Brodin are out the whole series.

My Opinion:
If Ek, Brodin and Bog are out the whole series----you have no choice but move McCarron to the 2nd or 1st line and split up Hughes and Faber. Middleton has been hot garbage so far.

Hartman has been thrown around like a rag doll and Zuccarello plus Hartman is too small against Colorado. Ek if healthy is going to have to move up and Hartman down to the 2nd line......if he can play. Can Sturm or Fabri bring some juice or at least hold their own?

Start Wally next game.

Status: online 		After watching some of last night's games I have come to the conclusion that Guerin has to get younger sooner rather than latter. Teams like Buffalo, Montreal, and Anaheim are younger, bigger and faster than our current team. They are going to get better while our over 30's group is at or over their peak already. It's going to be hard to keep up for long the way this team is built. We need to make our run now or make some really big splashes in the next couple of years to stay relevant.

Status: offline 		As I said, the window will still be open for a while. Kaprizof, Boldy, Ek, Faber, Hughes. That’s a solid core. Those are the untouchables. The rest are either aging or easily replaceable as far as I’m concerned. We need to shore up behind the core and get bigger tougher stronger.

It will be interesting as they do have some pieces to trade up. I think the time to trade Brodin/Spurgeon was about 3 years ago. Stramel/Yurov/Brink/Hunt and hopefully Gus are the pieces used to add but with the way this team is setup maybe Guerin goes the FA route for a Center?

Status: online 		That's the (one of, at least) problem. The C position was pretty weak when JEE was healthy. When he's out it's a huge liability because the have to promote a 3rd line guy like Hartman and then try and plug the other lines. It just causes a massive ripple affect where nobody is where they are talented to be.

I would do something bold if Ek is out Saturday. McCarron to first line with Boldy and KK to start the game to set the tone. Then split up Faber and Hughes and have at least one on the ice at all times instead of together.

Status: online 		A great game by the Wild tonight to make this a series after all. I was expecting more of a 2-1, 3-2 type of game but a 5-1 win puts them on notice that we won't be an easy out. Wally was on his game and we were keeping them to the outside all night. The Foligno boys had one hell of a night and you could see the Avs D shying away towards the end when they were on the ice, LOL.

Status: online 		Even in the first game that we lost we showed we could "hang with them" because we scored almost as many goals on them as they did on us. So last night's big win renews some hope in me that we could actually beat the best team in the league and move on. But we have to win three more games to do it.

The biggest difference between games 2&3 is that our goalie didn't give up 3 cheapos. We didn't have to play catch up at any point.

Status: offline 		Wall of course played better but moving Hunt to 2nd def pair sure seemed to help along with Bogosian being back. Return of the Ek delayed a game?

The puck movement in Avs zone was so much better this game also. The Wall, Faber, Hughes, and KK played like superstars.
