Not even season ending. Jeffers should miss 6-8 weeks.

Right. Super common injury in baseball. They just remove the small fractured part and you're as good as new once healed.

It ended Alex Kirilloff's career.

A lot of things ended Kiriloff’s career.

I’ll tell you who I AM a fan of. In a lost season like this you look for good finds. Here they are so far.

Taj. Once he gets healthy again.

Zebby. He needs to stay and not get sent down if he has a rough game or two.

Bell may turn out to be a useful if unspectacular veteran acquisition.

Haven’t given up on Keachall yet. But the clock is ticking.

That’s it.

Kirilloff never broke his hamate bone.

Ill add Abel to the pitching list and Gray and Kriedler haven't been bad as role players and have a little power.

BP pisses me off. Not so much the return but you need even a Gus Varland who was out there for nothing and you have to try to build one........Bailing wire, chicken blood, etc. doesn't get it done.

Guessing our closer will end up being Festa or Matthews but they have blown so many games already.

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/royce-lewis-and-ryan-jeffers-hamate-bone-are-broken/

Some parts:
To replace him, Minnesota is likely to go with some combination of Tristan Gray, Orlando Arcia, and Ryan Kreidler. With that trio, the Twins are projected to rank 30th out of the 30 major league teams in production from their third basemen.

To add insult (and… injury) to injury, the Twins also lost another possible bat this week when 23-year-old prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez suffered a torn UCL in his left thumb, which will require surgery to repair.

Add Prielipp to the pitching list. He's been great.

Trash roster fillers don’t interest me. I’m talking bout players who MIGHT have a chance to be a pruductive regular.

Twins are proof that you don't need a closer. Any decent reliever can finish up a victory.

We would be over .500 with just a decent closer. We are 4 games w/o.

Our runs scored versus runs given up are almost the same......

Austin Martin and Brooks Lee are both good examples on why you don't give up on a guy early in his career if he struggles. Both have emerged this year. Now, if we can only get Keaschall back to being Keaschall and restore the confidence of one Royce Lewis (who will likely have to change positions to 1B now). We could have a pretty damn good lineup night to night.

Maybe Royce should switch to shortstop.

No. I think he was worse there than 3B. Besides I think they moved Lee to 3B because it's a better position for him...AND they are anticipating promoting Kaelen Culpepper by summer's end. Our first base situation is Josh Bell (who is more of a DH) Victor Carantini (who is currently our catcher) and Kody Clemens (who is at best a bench guy). 1B would be less of a defensive position for Lewis and he can learn it quickly unless the Twins decide to bring lifetime AAA guy Sabato up...

Lee seems better suited for 3rd. He even has the first name for it. I never liked him at SS anyway.

As for Lewis, at least he seems versatile. If he makes it back plug him in anywhere. Let him be a utility guy. Nothing wrong with that. He should be grateful just to get another shot. Right now he looks like a classic AAAA star.

He can be the next Tony Phillips.
