Off season, pre-season, game day. Talk about it all here. There aren't enough of us left to justify individual threads anymore.

It is sad that their aren't. I used to love the daily minor league updates. But this team had submarined too many fans. Fanbase has given up.

I still love my Twins...that's why I really hate what the Pohlads are doing to it.

****ers

Yep, I miss those updates from director of minor league scouting, Ed Funk. I miss the banter with SMF. I miss the McMurphy drive bys. I miss the departed; nice guy Conrad Dahl, Todd Gray and his wonderfully warped sense of humor, even grumpy Jim Frenette and his defiant placement of a Top Chef thread in Twins talk.

Ah yes. Top chef. Which precipitated one of my most famous meltdowns.

Where the hell did everyone go, a lot of the good guys left

TJSweens -> RE: General Twins Talk (10/14/2025 9:08:30 PM)

The Twins will be interviewing Rowson, Shelton and Vazquez. I would be happy with Rowson.

First question in the interview "what is the least amount you will accept?"

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Twins Talk (10/15/2025 3:26:23 PM)

So now there is rumor that the Twins are going to interview ...

Wait for it.

Nick Punto to be the manager.

It's like they want me to abandon them as a fan.

He traumatized my 30's, and that's not hyperbole.

twinsfan -> RE: General Twins Talk (10/15/2025 4:37:24 PM)

Maybe our old friend Brian Parlin will return to TalkVikes?

twinsfan -> RE: General Twins Talk (10/21/2025 8:25:51 AM)

I received a nice email from my Twins ticket rep yesterday.

Matt,

I just wanted to send over a quick note to say thank you for your renewal and continued support of the club. It means a lot to the organization and me personally.

Thank you!

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Twins Talk (10/21/2025 8:55:09 AM)

And then there were 2

For the remainder of this postseason, I am a Blue Jays fan.

The Twins really appreciate their sheep.

Wrong thread. There is a playoff thread and a MLB thread.

"Thank you so much for your commitment and gluttony towards suffering. We will be sure to make it as miserable as possible."

I was going to ask Matt if they raised the prices on him....but I just don't care enough right now.

They have to ace the managerial hire and FA for it to move the needle for me.....if not they might draw less than 5k for most games.

I would say acing the managerial hire and FA is a statistical impossibility at this point.

Rowson or Shelton. Some logical FA that get them into a reasonable spending range and contend.

Logically I would go to a game to watch Jenkins, Buck, Keaschall, Lewis and hope either Pablo or Joe are starting. There is talent but it isn't like they needed to spend a ton the last offseason. A RH bat, another pitcher like Singer for the Reds, a 1B, and a solid backup catcher that could hit. Same issues exist going into this season. If they don't want to compete with a respectable salary range I am not interested in going to any games unless by chance or luck I am in the Cities.

They are willing to interview Nick Punto, Torii Hunter for the Manager's job. Both would cost quite a bit less than Rowson or Shelton. And there is no way they go all offseason and keep both Pablo and Ryan. They will do what they always do with FA, let anyone truly talented be picked up by other teams then scrape the bottom of the barrell for the scraps and pray they catch lightning in a bottle. And they need a LOT of help to contend. Especially in the BULLPEN which the FO willfully decimated at the trade deadline.

They aren't interested in adding payroll to get into a solid respectable salary range. They are looking for ways to dump more...which is why Lopez and probably Ryan will both be gone.

Of course this exact scenario wouldn't suprise me. Exactly what I stated it would take for me to somewhat care other than boxscore and an inning or two of watching each game.

I do have more hope that Falvey can build a BP than he does finding the SP, Catcher, 1B, and RH bat that I listed.

twinsfan -> RE: General Twins Talk (10/23/2025 10:42:26 AM)

Torii Hunter has declined the Twins' offer to manage the team. He doesn't want to uproot his family and move to MN, and he's not interested in moving away from his family.
