The Patriots would be winless since the cheating scandal but for the dumbest playcall in SB history

Run Lynch and the Pats would be 0-4 in their last 4 SBs

I knew when Seattle had to have a non-call against Sherman to beat ATL in Seattle that they were the best team

Got every playoff game right before the playoffs started except GB-Dallas

Whoops

Buyer beware for the Niners on Shanahan. That was a colossal meltdown on his part with the Falcon offense, yesterday. His mismanagement of the clock was as bad as I've ever seen in a big game. He made Dennis Green look like Bill Walsh.

The sportsbook @BovadaLV has given the #Vikings early 16-to-1 odds to win the next Super Bowl. Only six NFL teams given better odds.

perhaps not to that extreme, but i feel like the vikings lost in a similar fashion at least a couple of times this season...bad coaching and quarterback decisions in crunch time....

This is worth re-posting.

NE wins a game that goes to OT.

Julio caught 4 passes

It can only be a game clinching catch if they actually win the game.

Personally, I liked what I saw from the Vikings in the preseason. They have some much better athletes on the offensive side of the ball and the offensive line will be better. On defense they played a lot of kids during the preseason and let the veterans rest. All-in-all, they stayed healthy and look like a more complete team then they had a season ago. Elflein really impressed me. Every time he was in the game the offensive line played better. He's going to be a good one for a long time.

It’s time again for that wonderful, highly researched (iow pulled right outta my ass), predictions for NFL 2017

We’ll start with the NFC

NFC East
Giants – Eli Manning, OBJ, a good Defense, This is their year.
Eagles – will continue to suck. Carson Wentz honeymoon ended midway through 2016 and it isn’t going to suddenly get better.
Redskins – As long as Daniel Snyder keeps meddling, this team will finish third.
Cowboys – Overratted, they are not sneaking up on anyone this offseason. And with Eliot missing some games because he can’t help beating up his girlfriend… rude awakening for the Dak and Co this year.

Winner – Giants

NFC South
What a mess.
Carolina has a new RB, and Cam the quitter at QB. They added Matt Kalil at LT dooming their vaunted QB to be running for his life. Defense will be good until the inevitable Keuchly injury
Saints – will regret AD within 3 games. Brees is getting old and he doesn’t have the receivers he used to, plus that defense is a joke. They are going to have to score 50 a game to have a winning record.
Buccaneers – Jameis Winston era starts to take shape. Could be their year to shine because,
Falcons- are coming off a Superbowl hangover and major letdown and aren’t going to have a winning season. They almost never do have consecutive winning seasons.

Winner Bucs

NFC West
Cardinals – looking like a .500 team to me…WRs are too small except for the aging Fitz. Palmer’s not getting any younger
Rams – New coach, Jared Goff, only way this team is a factor is if the Gurley man runs for 2000.
49ers – Let’s see, fourth new HC in four years, Defense is a sieve. Not ready to compete with the big boys
Seahawks – it’s their division to lose…which sucks because I can’t stand the arrogant nature of some of these boobs.
Winner Seahawks
NFC North
Bears – will suck as long as their current ownership sticks around.
Lions – take away Stafford and they would be challenging the New York Jets for the first overall pick.
Packers – as long as they have Rodgers they NFL and TV networks love them. As long as that happens they have a good chance of being in the mix to win it all.
Vikings – Improved their Oline a lot, cleared some dead weight (Boone, AD, Asiata) added younger players to replace older retired ones. Defense will be tough. Offense will do enough.

Winner Vikings

NFC Wild cards
Detroit, Green Bay

Detroit loses to Seahawks first round
Green Bay Beats Bucs
Vikings beat Green Bay
Seahawks beat Giants
Vikings beat Seahawks at home to earn the right to play the Superbowl at home.

My brain only allows me to go a game at a time.

Vikings vs. Saints

I like to follow a if-I-had-to-bet-money principle. Unless we are clearly outclassed, my heart always wants to pick the Vikings, so I have to think in terms of losing money.

Some factors good for the Vikings:
We are at home
We aren't playing at 9 p.m.
I have zero idea how the Saints look; maybe they are bad

Some factors bad for the Vikings:
Prime-time game
First game of the year, and it seems it is not uncommon for Zimmer to have the team come out flat
Who knows what the O-line will do at this stage
Our secondary is iffy, and Brees can throw the ball
I dislike AP a lot, and I'm glad he is gone, but I can see him gouging us
If we are going to continue to play for field goals, that's bad

Since it is the first game, I don't have a lot of data on the team. I guess I have to look at how they ended up last year when it comes to this first game. I hope they win, but I would not bet any money on them.

Saints: 24
Vikings: 16

Now let’s talk AFC

AFC South
Colts – Luck iffy, Defense more iffy, Doomed is a good prediction
Jaguars – Entire team iffy.
Texans – if they ever find a QB worth a shit they might have something here. Defense could be scary good with that Dline of Clowney, Mercilus and Watt. Good young WRs. But the QB situation is going to kill them. But I still think a WC is in their future.
Titans – Mariota takes the next step and this division is theirs.
Winner - Titans

AFC West
Chiefs – Andy Reid will always be a coach that gets his guys to the playoffs then find a way to choke it all away. Alex Smith is Alex Smith.
Raiders – If Carr continues to progress and stays healthy, it’s their division to lose.
Chargers – moving to LA, and finding new and inventive ways to underachieve and lose…will continue
Broncos – Defense isn’t what is used to be and QB situation could kill them.

Winner Raiders
AFC North
Cleveland – PLEASE
Bengals – Will do what they always do, make the playoffs then lose.
Ravens – not enough done to get back to the top.
Steelers – It’s theirs to lose.
Winner Steelers

AFC East
Bills – Suck
Dolphins – Sucking and now sucking more with Cutler
Jets – Trying to suck
Patriots – cruise to another winning season (something like their 18th in a row) as there is really no competition in their division.

Wild Cards
Bengals, Texans
Titans beat Bengals
Raiders beat Texans
Steelers beat Titans
Patriots beat Raiders
Steelers beat Patriots
Vikings beat Steelers for their first Superbowl title!!!

Patriots. No more conversation needed. Given their division, they start 6-0 and are nearly half way to home field advantage when the opening bell rings.
