However ... if we win this one ... @ ATL in a dome bodes well for us.

20 degrees hurts GB more than it hurts us. The Pukers have lost their last 2 home playoff games, and 4 of their last 6.

Some teams could possibly take advantage of it but we're just not a road/weather/grass team.
Rodgers will still be able to throw in the cold.
If I were betting on the game I would take GB straight up.
ATS it's a harder call.

Will he? Will his receivers catch the balls as if it was 60 degrees out?

Will ours?

It's much less key to our offense.

It is on 3rd down

Rodgers will be better prepared for it.
Which is why we have to pressure him.
Allen has to have a big game.
He could propel us to ATL.

No, it favors the QB that is more in sync with his WRs, and the WRs that are good at catching hard throws. I can't see Vikings' WRs making more tough catches than the Packer WRs.

I'd prefer a slow track on Saturday night. We are by far the more physical team, especially if Winfield can go. The uglier the weather, the tougher it'll be on the home crowd and the passing game of GB. We've got a shot, and if AD goes down for any reason, I'm still expecting good things.

I disagree. I think the Vikes HAD been the more physical team, but Winfield not healthy and hitting makes the Vikes' defense softer, along with Robison being hurt.

The Packers have been lacking physically on defense, but got a boost with Matthews back, and will also get a boost with Woodson back on Saturday. The Packers now have a more physical run game than what they had before with Harris, and Smith at C is more physical than Saturday, and the return man Ross also adds more physical punch to the Packers, more than what THEY had before. Last week Harrison Smith got hurt trying to tackle Harris and Ross was punishing some of the Vikings coverage people.

There HAS to be some sort of weakness the Vikings can exploit with Evan Deitrich-Smith having only had TWO starts at Center. Sure he is an upgrade over Saturday as he is a more physical run blocker, but he is probably weaker against the pass. Sometimes a team that loses its' center is REALLY in trouble as the replacement has trouble making reads and adjustments, so that MUST be an area they can exploit with Smith. I would blitz Jasper Brinkley a few times up the gut and give Smith something to worry about.

Toby is not going to juke and jive his way into losses. Ever.

Ever? On 50 carries this season, he was tackled behind the LOS 6 times. Not an outstanding ratio, considering he's not facing a defense designed to stop him, and it certainly doesn't qualify as not ever going to lose yards.

He's good for 3-4 yards, reliably, and sometimes more. But he's fast enough to run off tackle, which is what will be needed against their fatties in the middle.

The vast majority of his carries are runs between the tackles. For his career, he has been much more efficient between the tackles.
I don't think many of us would be too pleased if we designed a lot of runs outside the Tackles for Gerhart.

He's also a better receiver and a better blocker than Peterson. Much better.

This idea that Gerhart is a good blocker probably stems from the fact that he's kind of built like a FB. He's not very good in pass protection. In fact. he's way below average. Pro Football Focus ranks him as the 104th best HB in Pass Blocking. They rate Peterson as 109th.

We can "thunder & lightning" them better with a bruising Gerhardt and a scatback like Wright, also.

I like Wright. I think he has promise as a WR. He is not a scat back. I would not be comfortable at all with him carrying the ball. He's done that less than five times since High School. A playoff game wouldn't be the time to let him audition as a RB.

If AD can pound 'em for a couple of quarters before going down, I can see us eating the clock with Toby & Jarius, plus a little Ponder of course, on the ground. The occasional first down flip to Jenkins or Rudolph could be enough to do 'em in here in Cheeseland.

I'm glad you're confident Todd.
Vegas has us as an 8 point underdog ...
We have essentially a rookie QB and a terrible road/grass/outdoor record essentially for 30 years.
But we can buck that trend with a damn good game from the D.
I don't see us scoring like we did last week indoors.

Please do not punish the 99.99% of Viking fans to teach the 00.01% a lesson in football karma. The vast majority of us realize that just going into Green Bay and pulling out a win will be hard enough, please for the love of all that is Norse, do not make us try to do it with 3 fumble Gimpy. Adrian Peterson carried this team into the playoffs on his back, give us the opportunity to watch running back immortality. We DO NOT want to watch Mr. 3.0 ypc run into BJ Raji and get our butts whipped. We promise, nearly all of us want the best player on the team and the best player in the league to be on the field and 100% healthy. The few who see fit to tempt you know not what they do.

That notion of us being good enough to win without Peterson, doesn't do much for claiming he's the MVP.

Very similar teams. 2007 Pukers 2nd in the league in passing, 21st in the league in rushing. In a cold weather game, got beat by the Giants 2nd in the league in rushing, 21st in the league in passing. And that years Packers D was light years better than this year.

They played well Sunday, can they be better?

I'd love to see Allen come up big, but we're really going to need our back seven to make a couple of big plays in the passing game.
Somebody. Anybody. Maybe Smith comes up big with a pick, or Sanford with a forced fumble.

This sounds good. Reality is that of his 50 carries, only 25 of them went for 3 or more yards. The guy is not good and if he's our main back on Saturday, we would be screwed. Fortunately we have the MVP on the team and we can stop talking about this ridiculous idea. Right?

Still ... Gerhardt averages 4.3 rushing 8.0 receiving.
That's average ... i wouldn't say "not good".

When AD is running for 2000 you're gonna have a little rust if you're Toby.
His "career" averages are on par for a part time back.
For some full time backs too.

I wouldn't be at all upset if we looked to upgrade our RB depth in the draft. Maybe actually find a 3rd down back.

A Sproles-type or LaMichael James even.
