The first score I saw, Butler, lost....oh I guess I will have to wait until next year for a chance to win a Million...

I filled my board out Sunday, as I filled it out I found out the teams that were in. I read nothing and figured at least I am in, I can always adjust it by Thursday. One crazy week later and the games had already started before I even pulled it up again.

I am just checking it now and I am thinking, I hope I took Maryland over Cal,

Hence the name Little Sisters.., I was picking so blind, I don't even know who have. The only team I had any feeling for was Memphis. I like their experience, little scare today, but just what the dr ordered if you ask me.

Good Luck everyone, I hope you enjoy Losing to The Little Sisters of The Poor.

And Jim...Yeah good luck on the perfect thing...

How in the hell does Memphis run off 25 consecutive wins and NOT get a #1 seed?

They're coming out of that West Region.

Exactly!

By the way Gonz, is Memphis getting a 2 seed, the reason you protested the tourney, by signing up, yet not picking?

WK vs Illinois
That was the most amazing #5 vs #12 matchup in my lifetime.
From the opening tip, there was no question who was going to win.
The Big Ten is brutal. It's a JV league at this point.

I've had no doubt who would win that game from the moment the matchup was announced on Selection Sunday.

Yep, the Big10 is just down right now.  But in fairness, so are the SEC and the Pac10.  The BigEast and ACC are a cut above everyone else at present, with the Big12 being decent.

Not a great day of action today; hoping for a better one tomorrow.  I really expected VCU to beat UCLA tonight, but didn't quite happen.  I was also sorely disappointed with officiating in a number of the games I saw today.  Very inconsistent, especially late in games.

But hey, I can't complain overall.  I've already made my money back, after one day of action, in my big "square" pool.  It's $25 a square, 100 squares, with a number (last digit of the final score) for the higher seed and lower seed.  My square was 1 for higher, 8 for lower, so I won both the UNC and Washington games today to get my money back.  Any wins in the remaining 47 tourney games are gravy.

I really do recommend anyone doing a square like that.  Normally I hate "chance" things like that because I like to involve skill or knowledge in betting.  But this is great because it really makes EVERY game, including blowouts, exciting in the final minutes.  Seriously, try it.  I might just have to organize a "board" one next year.

The announcer for this game - "his is like a home game for North Dakota State, they are like 6 hours from Fargo"

Or 4 hours, maybe depending on if you are driving with my 88 year old Aunt Ethel.

Gotta say that was a better flurry at the end of the Marquette/USU and Okie St/Tenn games than all of yesterday's games...

Did you guys like the way CBS went back and forth from game to game?  I thought it was great.  And I think they did a very fine job, too...didn't really miss anything integral from either game in the last couple minutes!  That is what March Madness is about!!!

NDSU petered out at the end, but nice to keep it tight for most of the second half (I'll always have a place in my heart for NDSU...my first two years of college were there)

Illinois blew it yesterday, but how did Michigan pull out their win?...Hope to see another Big 10 loss in the OSU/Siena game...surprised that Siena is getting so much good attention...folks are pretty excited about them here.  Local kids doing well.

Looking for Mizzou to build on their end of season momentum to take out Memphis and UConn...that is my big bracket breaker (likely) or maker (not so likely)...

And I have Oklahoma going all the way.

I'm such a Big 12 homer!

I agree Chris, that was how ESPN did it in the late 80's when I first fell in love with the big dance.

NDSU's Mr Woodside (from Albert Lea) helped take his team of warriors to the summit today.
Great season for them.
They made Kansas sweat.
Loved the Kansas guards reaction in the post-game presser .... "dude was the best player we've played all year"
Heard this morning that there are 12,000 Bison grads living in the Twin Cities. That WAS a home game.
The tourney is about upsets and dreams, but its also about great stories like NDSU, whether they win a game or not.

That's one of the things that make this sport so special.

I was expecting Aldrich to have a few fans there but if they were, they were squashed by all the NDSU fans.

I have tickets, but couldn't make today's games, so I gave them to my neighbor, but I'll be there for Sunday's games.

Congrats to Siena!!  They are the local team here in the Capital District...Syracuse is everyone's traditional favorite, but Siena has meant a lot to this part of NY...another great story and thrilling game!

CBS almost played the back and forth to perfection tonight.

they cut away a second too early, though, on Wisconsin's missed shot just before OT...other than that, it was an even more exciting finish than this afternoon!

Good Stuff!!

No doubt.  I was about to break my TV on the shot that they cut away from though; really bad.

Why don't they do the split screen anymore at the end of 2 games?  They used to do that all the time.  They also used to have the ability to watch 4 games at once online in a box format.  Now no more of that either.  I don't get the step backwards.

Teague, the wonder boy, didn't look too good tonight.  10 points and 7 turnovers.  Player of the year anybody?  Top Ten draft pick, anybody?  Like I said two months ago, I'll laugh at whoever drafts him in the first round.  Absurd.

3 of the 4 #5s are gone already.
Purdue the only one to make it out of the first rd.
Three #12s are moving on. Weird.

ACC off to a slow start.
Big 12 has a great first round but I don't expect it to last.
Pac 10 was impressive as well.

Congrats to Mr. Woodside. What a performance.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that DirecTV has a "March Madness" thing now that allows you to do that sort of thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if that had at least a little something to do with it.

My bracket is looking pretty horrible at this point. . .I only managed to get 3 teams right in the Midwest (the top 2 seeds and Siena).  Lost 2 teams in the East (Minnesota and Florida State, both of whom I had in the Sweet 16).  Lost one Sweet 16 team out of the West (Northern Iowa), and no Sweet 16 teams lost out of the South.

But 21 out of 32 in Round 1 isn't going to get me anywhere in my office pool.  Damn it.

I'm really shocked at the Wake game.  They just didn't come to play at all.  But I didn't have them going past the Sweet 16.

Hopefully we're in for another great game of basketball today.  Best American sporting event there is!

Scott that is usually the biggest upset number, 12 beating 5. Every year you will see at least 1. The other is 10 beating 7

Ouch.  Washington losing shocks the hell out of me.  And really hurts my bracket chances.

They just didn't show up to play at the start; can't give away 10 minutes of a game like that and expect to still win, even if you are the better team.

Go Duke!

I absolutely agree with this statement.  I'm happy that I've been able to watch some NBA games this year... but I don't get a chance to see any D1 games.  I have seen plenty of D2 over the net.  Maybe I just have not looked hard enough or in the right place.

NCAA Basketball is truely fantastic.  I do get to watch the tourny, as I did last year, so that is good.
I stayed up till 3 am watching the kansas/north dakota state game...  great game to watch too.   Anyone who watched that or the siena/ohio state game (the other game I watched) and did not enjoy it could never say they like basketball.

Cheers!
Tim

Yep, Tim.

I have a roommate that has never been a basketball fan at all but I've got him hooked now.  Me and my other roommate were trying to explain to him how March Madness is as good of a sporting event as there is (how he has not been exposed to this to this point I'll never know) and I don't know if he quite got it then.  But the last 3 days he certainly has.  He's been jumping up and down for games almost.

Glad you get to watch the tourney man.  That would kill me for sure.

Memphis/UConn could be a heck of a game, if they meet...both look very solid.
