With all the rioting in Vancouver last night, you'd think they won the cup

I may get blasted for this and that's ok.  It's deserving, I know.  Fire away, you won't hurt my feelings.

I have no problems with cops and business owners putting led in to rioters like that.  If that was my store, or car, I would be down there with my 12 gauge, a boat load of shells, water and something to eat.  Why?  Cause I aint' leaving my property all night.

Try and bust up my property and see what you get.  Idiots like that don't deserve to breathe the air we breathe.  They need to be taken out before they do more than monetary damage.

Funniest part of night ... that BETTMANN! dude trying to yell loud enough to be heard over the boos for him. Classless of Van fans, but certainly not surprising.

That made me chuckle pretty hard actually.

Don't you think that some folks there in Vancouver were expecting their team to win and were planning on rioting?

I think some were going to raise hell win or lose.

Jeff, if I had a store down there, I'd have been there protecting it, too. It's beyond me to think that win or lose, I should just go out and wreck stuff.

When the merchants saw that the team was losing, don't you think that they had no idea that there would be a riot? I think that I would have been caught off guard by how it is unprecedented that cities don't riot when a team loses.

I wouldn't blast you. Shit like that is embarrasing. Bunch of small minded idiots that should not only get the boot out of the Country but off the planet.

CNN was reporting that the rioters came prepared with things like gas masks and most of them must have been out of town anarchists, not local hockey fans.

Ya know, the more I think about it, I can't blame them.  They probably just realized they are stuck w/ Luango until 2020

Cannot believe the Phlyers jettisoned Carter and Richards.
Seems so foreign to us here.
Superstars move all the time lately. Everywhere but here.

Yep.
The one position we could have used the last couple years to get a PLAYAH.
But ... nope.
Everyone we have put in net the past several years has been very good. You can only keep/have so many.
All it takes is one old grizzly vet to get hot, and carry you to the top.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with BB today.  Our one "real" tradeable asset.

Yep, talked to a guy who kinda knows someone who kinda maybe knows the neighbor of a guy who knows a Wild insider ...
He said no way Burnsy makes it thru the week as a Wild-er.
We'll see.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The transplanted Winnipeg NHL team has hired Claude Noel as its coach.
Noel has been an NHL coach with Columbus. He coached the AHL's Manitoba Moose last season, leading them to a 43-40-1-6 record.
Before that, he spent three years with the Blue Jackets, first as an assistant and then as coach after Ken Hitchcock was fired in February 2010. He also has coached in the ECHL and IHL.
The Winnipeg franchise is relocating from Atlanta. Its team name may be announced at Friday night's draft.

it's gotta be the J-E-T-S!

That's going to suck about BB if it happens.  A real fan favorite and a good team guy.  Does a lot for the community too.  It's pretty unfair that you get punished for being a franchise's only tradable asset.  And, he'll be a perennial all-star if he can stay on his damn feet.

The new NHL team in Winnipeg will go with what the city's original team was named -- the Winnipeg Jets, sources told ESPN.com Friday.
The team is expected to announce it Friday night at the NHL draft in St. Paul, Minn.

Ever since the announcement that the Atlanta Thrashers were moving to Winnipeg, fans have debated what to call the team. The overwhelming choice has been Jets -- what the team was called before it moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Coyotes. Other options included Winnipeg Falcons, Manitoba Falcons, and Manitoba Moose, which was the name of the AHL team there.

No surprise ... Nugent-Hopkins goes #1 to Edmonton.
This makes 37 straight years Edmonton has had the #1 pick I believe.
Wait ... just seems that way.

No lockout with the NHL. It might be the only game in town this fall. Hopefully, not.
