Man, would that Barn THUMP when "Sweet Georgia Brown" by Brother Bones would come on, as part of that phenomenal pre-game routine we had then. The place was electric, never have experienced a crowd or venue like it anywhere, since. For several years there, we were a basketball juggernaut & had a real national footprint. Then Fred Taylor brought his Buckeyes to Williams and everything changed. I've read conflicting reports on exactly what precipitated the Corky Taylor knee to Luke Witte's groin. Wasn't there that night. Suffice it to say--no matter what precipitated it--that was a very dark night in the annals of MN sports. It's fair to say we've not yet fully recaptured that magic, and I'm not sure we ever really will.
