Even with a PG we don't run much of an offense.

Williams responding to being called out?

Actually shot a 3 with some flow/confidence.

If we could play Iowa 26 times  a year we could probably sniff a national title.

RPI wouldn't be high enough, Jeff.

Souhan is an imbecile. I thought he was pretty well off the mark with mostly everything he wrote. Which is par for the course for him.

This. If we had Joseph or Nolen we'd have beaten Indiana and (most likely) Illinois and we'd be looking for hotels for the sweet 16. Souhan is just trying to stir the pot. Tubby's record in his first five years was almost identical to his last five, but Kentucky fans are insane.

The part about Tubby running off Joseph is also a load of crap. Not to mention the year that Mbakwe sat out and the departure of White were due to Joel Maturi not Tubby. Souhan's next good article will be his first.

Mbakwe running the floor, and the gophs just getting out and running, was refreshing. They do struggle in the 1/2 court, And they do struggle vs good defenses.

But at least they got it done yesterday. As poorly as they played at the start, turning it around in-game was nice to see.

Good to see them dominate a team in the 2nd half especially one that they were suppose to. Some great dish offs in the paint to Mbakwe. Sampson took a step fwd against Ill and then a step back last night

You can just see some games that Sampson hates to post up. Just doesn't look comfy.

If Mbakwe had Sampson's shooting range, he'd be lethal.

Probably the most physical inside guy they've had in ages.

The Illinois/Purdue game showed me how far the Gophs are from being a conference contender.

ILL showed some real defense on the Gophs.

And Purdue put it on them, on their own floor. Superior defense and a good offense. JaJuan Johnson is a man among boys.

Ya. Johnson is very good. Hummel was such a tough loss for them. Would have raised the whole Big10 up a notch this year. I really don't understand Michigan State either.

They always struggle early in the year with the brutal schedules Izzo has them play (and obviously it works in the long run; you can't argue with success). But this year feels different.

MSU looks so apathetic on the floor at times. They remind me of the Gophs. Look good against the scrubs,
strugggle vs the good teams.

Izzo's probably thinking this year; why couldn't a DIFFERENT team (other than the Cavs) have offered me a deal this offseason?

Monson's got his boys playing well at Long Beach State.

What's your guys' take on him at the U? Was it ALL him as the problem? Or was he hamstrung by other factors?

He was pretty good at Gonzaga and he's doing very well at Long Beach State now.

Thoughts?

And wis doesn't ever seem to be picked early, but once the Big 10 starts they climb the rankings. Maybe they just have such a soft early schedule. I never paid attention to that

Embarrassing. down 10 to a terrible Penn St team 1/2 way through the 2nd half.

Must have expected them to lay down and die

Good time for your senior leader to take a terrible 3 and then throw the ball away after a PSU lane violation.

Come back and choke off the loss. SOS - Can't defend the 3.

3 key possessions late:

Hoffarber, up one, fires a 3 - why? Was plenty of time.

Gophers after a time out, jag around the 3 point line, Hollins travels.

Gophers set up and throw the ball away.

Blech. This team is frustrating.

Hoffarber is frustrating, without a doubt. Good thing we don't need Nolen.

I've had enough of this Nolen love. There are absolutely no guarantees they win any of these games with Nolen either. In fact, I doubt it's made any difference in the W-L record.

Against these "lesser"teams (HAH) They could just as well start Mav.

Hoffarber had a few really nice assists. That 3 try just makes me shake my head.

I disagree, having to put Hoffarber at point has hurt him and the team. His turnovers cost this team and his inability to penetrate with the dribble leaves little options for the half court offense. Sampson laid another egg tonight, and they let the only guy on Penn State that could beat them do exactly that.

We shall see. Because if Nolen is as great and vital and wonderful as a couple people here think he is, we should have no problem winning the NIT title when he returns. After all, we are a Top 15 team with him, and and NIT team without him. We should hammer all other NIT teams when he returns. We'll see how it goes. That will be your chance to prove you were right and I was wrong.
