Maxx Williams is a BEAST
Rare to be THAT big and THAT mobile and THAT nimble and THAT athletic.
He is on the path to being a very high draft choice. VERY high.

Here looks more like a WR than a TE

What a great game!!! And I'm with you guys, usually I side on not running it up. But with Iowa, I was hoping for 60!!!

I didn't expect us to physically manhandle them like that up front. Our lines just dominated them. It was almost like Ferentz put his players through one of their illegal workouts an hour before the game. I laughed when our 2nd/3rd string freshman DE bullrushed their LT who's supposed to be a top 10 player in the draft this year. Just wait, there will be your new LT for the Vikings!!

I'm looking forward to the OSU game. I bet they'll be favored by at least 2 TD's, so we should have nothing to lose.

OSU asserted itself last night
Lets hope they take us lightly.
I had thought all year the game was there, so relieved I was wrong.
We could really have some fun next week. I'm betting we are better than they think we are.
We wont win, but it'd be nice to battle them down to the wire. We will need good experiences in games like this ... if we are ever going to be a legit B10 contender one day.

Interesting watching the post-gamers.
Leidner has some "swag" to him. Not a bad thing.
Appears to let things roll off him pretty well.

I like Leidner, overall, and so do his coaches and teammates.  He just annoys the hell out of me when he misses by a country mile on easy throws.

His running from trouble was an absolute dagger to Iowa yesterday.  It was awesome

Hear that.
I guess it just surprises me how he carries himself, when hes had some really awful performances, like you've alluded to.
His demeanor doesn't change, which is a very good thing.
Seems like one tough s.o.b.
I like that, too.

@NSandell
In their last 4 games, the #Gophers have had 7 pass plays of 40 yds or more. That's as many as they had in their previous 28 games combined

That's what scares me about this. Get all hyped up, and the OSU smacks them early, don't recover.

Mason had a big one too back in the day.  It was against Penn St if I remember right.  I can't, for the life of me, remember his name but the WR that got drafted by the Ravens made a huge play at the end and we kicked a GW FG.

Here is the thing. Ohio State's trouncing of Michigan State says more about how ludicrous it was for MS to rated #8 than how great THE OSU is. We have already played a much better team than OSU on the road this year. Injuries were part of the problem with the Gophers not making that game more competitive. OSU will be our biggest Big Ten challenge, BUT THEY ARE BEATABLE. If the defense can turn in another stellar performance and hold OSU's high powered offense to a reasonable point total this becomes a winnable game. Despite injuries the O-line is coming together. They kicked the crap of Iowa at the line scrimmage. The Gophs should be able to compete with these guys. Kill has them at that stage where they don't shit their pants over some early adversity. He always said that one the keys to the program would be to instill some "fight back" into his players. I think he has done that.

I had lunch with a buddy who is a  HUGE OSU supporter yesterday and he brought a good point.  Young team that game Myers a Gatorade bath after that win last week.  Huge trap game for them.  They are over confident.

My buddy was pissed.  His exact words:

"WTF gives a Gatorade shower after a mid season win?".

I've had a growing feeling that the Gophers are going to win Saturday. It just has a a feel of everything aligning just right. I think they'll come out confident and fired up. Ohio State will be a little off their game. I think even the cold weather will somehow favor us. It's not 100% rational, but it just feels that way to me. If I were in Vegas I'd be betting large on the Gophers. I always love betting these 'hunch' games.

It's bizarro world
Watching my usual espn wake-ups, and they go from advertising
Pitino vs Pitino on Friday, to
Golden gophers vs Buckeyes on Saturday.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
Is this the golden age of gopher sports?

Seems like that was in 1999. Correct? Or am I going too far back? I seem to remember watching that one in my apartment in Bemidji. Penn State #2 in the country at the time? That's how I remember it anyway.

I'm hoping for a 1977 re-do of the win over #1 Michigan
Proudest day of my Gopher-following life

I'll say it again
Helluva weekend for the U of M athletic program.
Espn is treating us like we belong, almost.
There's a crack in the window, will be interesting to see what we do with it.

Not sure about the year either but PSU being #2 sounds right.  It was a massive win, I remember that much.  The only one close to that, that I can remember was Mason telling Rhys Lloyd "don't forget the axe".
