I will say this about the "Kill regime" teams. They hit hard. Our:

QB's can't throw the ball in the ocean from a peer
WR's can't get open, and when they do, drop gimme's that our QB meant to throw to the other hash....
...
..
.

On D, we give up points but the one thing we can do, is lay licks out there. In the new world of Fusball, it actually hurts us. We hit too hard. Go figure. Kill and Co have built a team that would have contended for the B10 back in the 80's. In 2016 they hit too hard and can't pass. Yippee!

I honestly think we should go Wildcat and have Smith and Brooks in the game all the time. They are far and away our two best football players. I just can't take watching Leidner throw and make reads much longer.

The funny thing is, IMO we are a very flawed team. And we are 6-2. Should be 8-0, with a QB who couldn't hit a 5 yard out if he could run the ball out to the WR. Has the B1G ever been this bad? We are very mediocre, and at the same time should be undefeated. I hope Coyle isn't falling for this fool's gold and sees the program for what it actually is.

Penn State just beat Ohio State.....they aren't too shabby. We should have beaten Iowa.

With all the Def Players that start or are backups that have been on the sideline (because of the Sex Allegations)....no surprise we lost to Penn State. What was it like 5 players? Now some have a restraining order as the possible victim is blocks from the stadium.

We've also got some Gophers playing defense in the NFL right now ... Good to see
We're obviously finding some real athletes
Now we need to get them all to behave while they're here

I know I'm treading on thin ice here ... but .... gonna say it anyway

I've seen at least 5 instances this year in FB games, from HS to college, where kids lay on the field, get strapped to a gurney, and wheeled out in ambulances.
Five.

In all 5 instances, (I've checked) ... every player had returned to the sideline or the locker room by the time the game ended, and 4 of the 5 (one pending...) PLAYED the next week.
THAT has to stop, imo.
I'm not asking you to paralyze yourself by attempting to play on, but come on. Who's teaching people to go to the ER every time you get hit hard? Just stop it.
I've seen thousands of games in my life before this year and had seen that event happen maybe 4 times in the previous 55 years?
Suddenly now hits are worse?
Make up your mind if you really want to play or not, and why. I would have been MORTIFIED to lay on a field or rink, have to be carted off, and then suddenly return .... OK.
How do you explain that?
Theres a difference between being injured, and being beat up. Start teaching kids the difference, please.

And yeah, you kids get off my lawn please.

I haven't asked Will...but it sure seems like a lot of kids, as soon as you're dinged, are looking for the trainers to come.

Having been on the sidelines doing the stats for the locals this year, I know a few kids were pretty tough, after getting dinged. Came to the sidelines, one play and were back in.

Others were looking for a reason to come out.

And some didn't have a choice. The trainers said they had to come out,had to get an x-ray to even get clearance.

Probably has a lot to do with liability. One trainer I told about a kid being dinged up even told me to walk away while she was talking to another trainer. Like I was going to hear some state secret or something.

Friday night football is coming to the Big Ten. Beginning in 2017, the Big Ten will play six prime-time games on Fridays, likely to be televised by an ESPN channel, FOX, or FS1. None are slated to be BTN. The games will be limited to September and October. And the league is committed to six Friday games for the next six seasons as it begins a new television contract.

Forgot to talk about this last weekend ... anyone watching when our punter nailed that beauty when we really needed it?
Think it traveled about 12 yards downfield, then bounced back towards us?
There are times when this team just makes you want to cry. They do the most god-awful things at the worst times.

Every program needs an identity...that's been ours for decades now.

He was a better FG kicker. Never understood that move.

Seems like many of these players lack the fundamentals

Can't believe Penn State is up to #12 in the polls. That looked like a bad football team when they played the Gophers.

With Arizona State possibly joining the Big 10 hockey conference along with Notre Dame, it might be a good fit for the Big 10 to try adding Arizona State and Arizona as the 15th and 16th schools for football, basketball, etc.

Not sure how we keep doing it ... but Thank God for the RB pipeline we have had for decades.
Almost always the strength of our teams.
Rodney Smith the next in a long line of good ones.

It wasn't THAT easy. They had to get the C/QB exchange right and then "kind of" block and stuff like that....
