Schlereth is normally good.  Collinsworth is a pencil-neck jerk

The problem with the Cowboys isn't Owens, it is Romo (and to a lesser extent Witen).

I find it funny that Jones calls out Barber when it is his golden boy QB choking in December AGAIN.  Romo has almost a 1TD to 2 INT ratio in December and a 70 QB rating.  Yet Jones and the media want to blame it on Owens and Barber?

right

You think WITTEN is a problem?  I realize I'm a bit biased on this, but how the hell so?  T.O. has been the same damn problem EVERY place he has gone.  Every single time.  You don't see a pattern there?

I agree Romo is far from clutch and that is a problem, but T.O. is a huge lockerroom problem as well, make no mistake.

Also, how is Collinsworth a jerk?  He's very smart, the smartest football analyst going, a trained attorney, watches more film than anyone, etc.  I guess I don't see the "jerk" thing at all.
Witten said the pick six that lost them the game was his fault for running the wrong route

Collinsworth smart?  Raise your standards.

Play back the countless stupid things he said about Moss.

Countless stupid things he said about Moss?

He pointed out, with video evidence on multiple occasions, that Moss was playing at a whole 'nother level and was not taking plays off last year, like he had in the past.  Raise my standards to what?  Collinsworth is the best in the biz.

As for Witten, okay, so one play (and his accountability for it; something T.O. would never do) make him a bigger problem than Owens?

Just please tell me you're not still apologizing for T.O. after the THIRD team he's tried to break apart.

Agreed on Buck.  He could fall of the earth for all I care but I think Aikman is actually really good (and it pains me to say that).

I actually like Aikman. Knows his shit, and is surpisingly objective and even-handed. You'd never guess he was an ex-conboy. He might be a good match with Collingsworth.

I like Aikman too. And it doesn't bother me that he has a history with the Cowboys. I think his commentary is pretty darn fair in spite of that.

Again, that shows he is either dumb or biased.

Do the same study on every other WR in the NFL and you see the same thing.  He works great for people who haven't played football or don't go to games.  But those who do see every WR doing the same thing as Moss.

Since we have established he isn't dumb that means he is a shill of the whatever propaganda the network wants to push out there.

As for studying film, so what?  Tons of guys study film all day and it doesn't make them impartial nor even accurate.  Jaws is the perfect example.  He is on the radio here during the week before the games and he is no more accurate than the average poster on this board.

For as long as you guys have been watching football, what insight do you really get from Cris Collinsworth?

The only reason to have the sound up is to hear the hits and the crowd, not the clowns.

ION, I met Lance Johnstone's father this morning.  He is a great guy.  He has some riding stables and he has a program teaching inner city kids who have had some challenges how to become responsible.  The kids clean the stables, learn how to care for horses, and ride!

Papa Johnstone is a great man.

Agree to disagree, JC.  Completely.

As for Aikman, I like him too.  I think he's just worse when he's with Buck.  I agree; put him with CC and you have a hell of a duo.

A few years ago I couldn't stand listening to Collinsworth.  I think he has improved a great deal over the years and has really made an effort to be good at what he does.  He's still not my favorite, but I like that he has actually worked to get better.

He is too self righteous for my taste. He refuses to look at the Williams situation in their points of view, just the NFL's.

And he was one of the biggest anti Moss announcers for years

Collinsworth is a dick. Big time. Loves to point fingers and be that cloud-sittin' saint. Someday someone will slap his candy ass and he'll cry like a baby lamb.

Wow.  Guess you guys hate brains.

I actually used to be a bit with what Pete just said on him, a few years ago.  But man, I love his stuff now.

I'm with Bill Simmons now; I think they should have a 24 hour Cris Collinsworth network.

You and Fargo summed up my feelings exactly

Analyze the game

Don't preach about personal behavior.

All the crying about Owens is overboard also.  We all know Terrell Owens is a loose cannon in interviews.  But on the field he is consistently one of the 3 best WRs in the game.  He never has been arrested or abused a woman.  Everyone doesn't have to be freakin' Cal Ripken Jr or something.  We are allowed to have different personalities in America.

You said "love his stuff...".... heh hehhehehe heh
so a little tete a tete between DDL and CC would be high on your PPV event list???

not that there is anything wrong with gushing over guys... sports reporters and actors, no less....

I mean at least it's not body builders, wrestlers or divers...

JC, come on now, we both know T.O.'s "issues" are a lot more than that.  Of course you can have a different personality.  But he has DIVIDED teams 3 times now, at every stop of his career.  You're going to tell me that that's all just circumstances/coincidence?

See, I can't fall for the "Owens destroyed the team" point at all.

Are these grown men or wussies?

If they are such punkasses that Owens criticizing them makes them ineffective they are weak-minded anyway.

Of course I wish he would shut his mouth instead of going from "That's my QB, man!" to "he only likes Witten" BS.

But his mouth should have NO EFFECT on the play of the rest of the team.

Man up

Part of me agrees with that, JC.

But there comes a point that when you constantly whine and call out teammates you completely undermine the leadership of the team, especially when it's your QB.

Push has to come to shove.

I say again; I've defended him in the past, but at this point, there is just no way I would want T.O. on my team at all.

Source says defensive players support Owens ESPN.com news services
Updated: December 12, 2008, 1:57 PM ET
The rift between Dallas Cowboys stars Terrell Owens, Tony Romo and Jason Witten is wider than just those three players, a source inside the team's locker room told ESPN's Ed Werder on Friday.
The source told Werder that the majority of defensive players on the team supports Owens' contention that Romo is overly reliant on Witten and often throws into coverage trying to get him the ball while ignoring Owens in a situation where he could make a play.
The article goes on to say...

The comments come a day after a source who speaks regularly with Owens' teammates told ESPN that Owens thinks Romo and Witten -- close friends and road roommates who came to Dallas in the same offseason -- hold private meetings and create plays without including Owens.

So unless Romo and/or Witten actually told Owens there were having these private meetings, which by definition Owens wouldn't know about otherwise, Owens is just having paranoid delusions?

Sounds like a bunch of sixth-grade girls.

Owens Tells Witten Not to Talk to Him
Sun Dec 14, 2008

The Dallas Morning News reports Cowboys WR Terrell Owens has instructed TE Jason Witten not to speak to him, according to multiple sources. The incident, in which Witten was rebuffed by Owens while attempting to speak with him about a pass route, happened during Friday's practice. It came after HC Wade Phillips said a team meeting, "set everything straight, as far as I'm concerned, and I think the players, too." Sources said the incident did not become physical and that practice continued. In the locker room after Friday's practice, Owens and Witten said the team meeting was productive. On Monday, Owens, WR Patrick Crayton and WR Roy Williams met with OC Jason Garrett about QB Tony Romo targeting Witten more than them. ESPN reported Owens was jealous of Witten's relationship with the quarterback and that he believed Romo and Witten create plays on their own. Owens denied being jealous. Sources close to Witten and Romo said the duo does not have private meetings and was surprised at the ESPN report. Romo said Friday he would not speak until after today's game against the New York Giants. It's a game the Cowboys almost have to win to maintain their playoff hopes.
