Carbs at night. They're the killer. Cut out those late night pastas/snacks. I pretty much always alternate between chicken/fish (sometimes steak) and a couple of good vegetables for dinner, like broccoli. I have my biggest meals at breakfast and lunch. Seems to help. I used to be really fit and be an athlete. Post-college I definitely got away from that. But last year I dropped 30 pounds in 3 months basically changing that (and I haven't been drinking soda for about 5-6 years now; you'd be surprised how easy it is to avoid after just a couple weeks). I'm a bit like you though, Dude. Trying to get that last 10 as I haven't been working out as much/as diligent the last 6 months or so. Oh, and if you can't run, swim man. It's the best cardio workout there is anyway. You can work everything.

You don't use your achilles much while skiing - the boots don't flex that way!

I don't have money in my budget to pay for a place I hate to go to. The achilles is getting better. I'll be able to run by January, I think. As long as I don't push too hard.

A chicken debate...those poor chick....just kidding. I have always wondered why every single restaurant/fast food joint and any home cooked chicken I've ever had is better than KFC. How can a franchise devoted to making chicken be the worst at making it? And don't get me started on their salads - gross. Give me home baked chicken any day. I never deep fry at home. The last thing I need in my life is a deep fryer. As for the skin, ya gotta leave the skin on. Nothing better than hawking off the crispy skin right out of the oven.

I am with you Todd I haven't eaten KFC in decades. Deep fry tastes the best and nothing is close. However, for the last few years I have had some really good oven fried that is much healthier. I am in great shape so it actually doesn't really bother me.

The cold water should scare about 500 calories from your body initially and the shivering for a while will work off about 100 more.
I'm lucky as we have a gym here at work, so every day during my lunch break I go work out. What really got me going all out on the exercise was the Navy Seals program they had. They put up the benchmarks for what the Seals do (or at least their minimums) and put together an 8 week "boot camp" competition to see how you compared to them. Best % increase from your first test to the testing at the end of the 8 weeks won $50. It really makes a difference when you log in what you do and there is some sort of accountability to a third party.
I think that's fantastic on so many levels. It helps the employer because healthy employees improve the financial bottom line and improve the work environment. It helps the employees because of all the obvious benefits of improved fitness. And the Navy Seals program gives a concrete set of goals that people can individualize for themselves. And having a small financial prize gives just that little extra incentive that helps push people a little bit. Excellent program. My only question is - does everyone come back from lunch all sweaty?

That Houston D-Line is looking like it's gonna be a force for the next decade. I think that's really smart for them. Kubiak doesn't need "stud" picks on the OL or at RB with his system, much like Denver. And he's got his QB now, and Andre is obviously a stud that was in the fold already too. If they get Andre a real complement at WR (I expect they will this draft) they'll really be clicking.

A franchise QB is still worth more than a very good DE Williams is having a better season this year, Young had a better season last year. The race is far from over. Watch Young next year with some real WRs.

Mario had his biggest game when his team needed him to. THAT was clutch. In a league where rookies tend to hit a wall their 2nd season, Mario simply crashed through it like it wasn't there. Like JC said though, still a long way to go to see who of the big 3 from the draft is the best. However, Mario is positioned the best to run away with that title right now.

Young isn't the only QB without great receivers. His problems are more numerous than that. He isolates on receivers, doesn't read defenses well yet, and doesn't take care of the ball. Hopefully he improves or he will end up on the bench.
