Except that TJack won EIGHT games with MUCH less of a receiving corps. How do you come up with five wins with guys like Driver, Jennings and Jones to throw to?

Driver is their only "Vet". thos other guys are young and inexperienced...just like our own receivers. Then again...If TJack was in GB he'd probably be on their practice squad anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter. Only we could put a DIV II guy out on the field light years before he's ready to play at a DIV I level.

Rationalize it all you want Ed, their 2007 receiver unit, man for man, WRs through TEs, was a better unit than the 2007 Vikes. Fer christ sakes, Ferguson was our #2 WR! IOWs our #2 WR couldn't even make their practice squad!

OK, Now I take the Vikings pretty seriously, but trying to kill his girlfriend because the Packers lost? and they aren't charging him with attempted MURDER? He choked her and tried to stab her, even saying he wanted to kill her. All over a football game? Seriously? I am getting the sense that there might be much more to this story than was reported.

Seriously, WTF???

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the woman is 19 and the man is 44. Without having any knowledge of the situation, that would seem to me to be a clue that there are some underlying problems with the relationship.

I think there's no question that if a guy will resort to beating and trying to kill his wife or girlfriend after a football loss - there is much more going on in the background. Normal people don't react that way. For some people, the woman burning dinner will set them off, or her nagging him about leaving his dirty underwear around will set them off. In this case, the Packer's losing a game set him off.

It would be hard to imagine a normal, emotionally healthy, stable person reacting that way to a football game.

I would think that there's more to it even than just his completely inexcusable behavior. Why is a 19 year old woman dating a 44 year old man? That would seem to me to indicate that she likely came from an abusive family situation, or maybe just an absentee father. It just goes to show that we have a lot of work to do before we can be considered a civilized society.

What's really sick is that if the guy is found guilty, the maximum he faces is 6.5 years. Beat a woman and try to kill her and the Max is 6.5 years? Absurd.

I think besides the fact that this guy is an obvious lunatic football fan, the issue I have a question about is all of YOU deciding that the age difference between the two people has anything to do with the underlying psychotic behavior of the Man, or that it's a social disgrace and a problem, proving "we have a lot of work to do before we are considered a civilized society".

Age difference in a relationship is proof of a flawed social structure?

If the guy was 50 and she was 25 Would that be a "taboo"?
How about 55 and 30?

Are you implying that when he was 26 he wanted to "consummate" with a new born?

If this relationship had gone on for 11 more years before this incident would you be complaining about a 55-30 age difference?

What's your real issue and who needs to evolve socially??

I wonder if the realtionship has been going on for a few years? 40-15?

To me 44-19 sure doesn't pass the smell test. It will usually be something like Dude alluded to.

To me it doesn't mean anything that it was after a Packers loss. Prolly going to snap at some time or another -in fact the article did mention a recent prior.

While there are exceptions, in GENERAL a 44-19 age difference is a bit alarming to me. I think 55-30 is a whole hell of a lot different than 44-19, personally.

This is what gets me when people look down on me for smoking, like booze is working so well for people.

Mix excess booze and anger and incidents like this do no surprise me, meaning that I bet it's not just Green Bay loses that increase these incidents.

Then why do they allow "teenagers" to train in the arts of war and kill in the name of "democracy"?

Is it because a "girl' shouldn't be with a guy that "OLD"?

What if the genders were reversed?

Would that make it any more or less "moral"?

I still maintain that 55-30 is a lot different than 44-19. You disagree, that's fine.

And hey, my grandparents met when they were 25 and 16, and I always thought THAT was a bit wrong. But it was a completely different time, of course.

You got that right.....And at 20 years old these days your probably a NonCommissioned Officer expected to lead Marines (Sailors, Airmen and Doggies) at some capacity. Because of the events of the world (I'll leave it at that) recruitment might be up but retention is the question. these kids are getting promoted faster and faster. Lack of Maturity in life experience is definately an issue.
