Best Viking QB ever versus Best GB QB Ever: Who had the bigger Big Games?

Fran Tarkington appeared in 3 Superbowls and lost all 3, had 1 touchdown and threw 6 interceptions with a passer rating of about 44.9

Brett Favre appeared in 2 Super Bowls, won 1 and lost 1, had 5 touchdowns and only 1 interception with a QB rating of abut 99.4

Dan, there is no way you watched all of those QB's play! you may be old....but your certainly not that old!!! And Naimeth? Gimmee a break! The guy had one game! ONE GAME! He opens up his mouith and his team bails him out! 17-28 for 206 isn't exactly "Big Game" to me. Plus Unitis was hurt most of the season..Had Johnny U played that entire game I'm willing to guess the Jets don't win that thing.

As much as you complain about us saying negative things about him, I think you go over the top to defend him. You've become a Favre apologist!

When the negativity goes over the top I think it takes someone going over the top to at least try and stick up for the guy!

I think there are a lot worse people in the league than Brett Favre.

There have been people involved in Murders and Drug Trafficing. Our own team involved in a Love Boat scandle. there are players out there who self promote to no end. Player calling their QB a homo on National TV or questioning their QB's ability or desire to play in the Super Bowl. Yet we as Viking fans can't get past Brett Favre....Its almost comical.

I suppose at his his press conference he had tacks in his shoes so he could cry easier!

I do not think Favre's wife is a liar, she and the rest of the family talked him into playing to honor his father. I don't think those are differing reports. He knew it was what his father would have wanted, but didn't think he could. His family thought it would be important later down the road for him to have played.. to honor his father.

You misunderstand - I didn't say that his wife is a liar. I'm saying that there was one version out there that his family talked him into it, and another version that he wanted to play. Perhaps those two reports DO overlap, but I didn't have the impression he needed to be talked into it.

That has nothing to do with the fact that playing a game of football was sure a whole lot easier than facing all of the funeral arrangements. That was my only point - that his family did the hard part, not him.

Come on Lynn....you actually think playing in that game was easy? Maybe it helped him deal with the death of his father. To rip on him for this is somewhat petty isn't it?

I dealt with the death of my mom completely different than my brother and sister. It didn't make it any easier or harder.

Yes....Naimeth has 1 and Favre has 1....So does Dilfer. Marino has Zero. SB wins alone does not a great QB make!

Ok, fine ED, Namath is out, but that still leaves 13 QB's I put before Favrey, and only Bart Starr as a packer, gets any respect because he was part of the Lombardi era.
