FSU on seven different occasions scored at least 50 points in a game.

More than half of their schedule.

OSU Five...

in six of their games FSU held their opponents to less than 10 points, including one shutout.  And in the two games they played against top 10 teams...each time they held them to 14 points.

OSU three. and the lowest score for any ranked team they played was 24.

This is not to say that OSU is bad...but FSU is worlds better, and imho head to head...FSU would stomp OSU into oblivion.

I agree, FSU is better than OSU and is the correct pick to be in the championship game

Big Ben is riled up, again
Posted by Mike Florio on December 10, 2013, 1:44 PM EST

Like Peyton Manning, there’s a chance Ben Roethlisberger is happy only when he’s unhappy about something.

Last month, reports that the Steelers quarterback possibly wants out of Pittsburgh pissed Ben off — and sparked a winning streak. Now that the Steelers have lost a pair of winnable games in a row, Ben is upset about something else.

He doesn’t like the perception that he took a shot at offensive coordinator Todd Haley after Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins.

“It’s unbelievable,” Roethlisberger told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, via ESPN.com. “It gets blown up and it’s by reporters that come in there and ask the dumbest questions after a game, and it makes it ridiculous when they only take part of your answer.

“It was taken way out of context. There is absolutely no issue between Coach Haley and I. I love where this offense is right now.”

As we’ve explained once or twice (or 50 times), there’s a huge difference between taking a quote out of context and isolating a quote. Isolating a quote in a way that doesn’t give it a different meaning when lifted out of its context is fair.

Here’s what Roethlisberger said that created the sense problems linger, via Adita Kinkhabwala of NFL Network, when asked about why the team got away from the running game in the second half against the Dolphins: “No idea. Coach Haley’s over there. You can ask him.”

Roethlisberger now says that the suggestion to pose the question to Coach Haley wasn’t intended to be a reflection on the man to whom Roethlisberger referred reporters.

“They take one little blurb of a whole sentence and it was not directed at Coach Haley, like ‘Go ask him, I don’t know why we didn’t do it,’” Roethlisberger said Tuesday. “It was, ‘He’s our coordinator, if you want to ask questions about play calling, go ask him about it. He’s the guy that calls the plays. If you want to ask me about the no-huddle and I’m calling [plays], then you can ask me.’”

That extra context isn’t doing much to change our own perception that Roethlisberger’s answer reflected frustration with Haley’s play calling. Otherwise, Ben would have shared some of the nuggets he has picked up during the past two years of working directly with Haley to help explain why the offense did what it did in that situation. Or maybe Ben would have provided some of the insights he acquired while talking to Haley during, you know, the game.

“[I]n no way shape or form was the [comment] directed negatively at him,” Roethlisberger insisted. “I think the offense is as good as it’s been in a long time. We’ve got guys doing some great things. I genuinely am enjoying this offense and what Coach Haley is doing and where we’re going. We’re getting [better] every week, and I think we can keep getting better.”

That doesn’t explain why Roethlisberger also reportedly declined to answer the question of whether he thinks changes need to be made on offense.

Maybe the media was unfairly taking his non-answer out of context, too.

Vikings are working out a RB today

Today the Minnesota Vikings are working out running back Bradley Randle. Randall was with the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason earlier this year.

He is a 5’7, 195 power running back from UNLV. With Petterson likely out for a least a couple games don’t be surprised if the Vikings sign him to the active roster or the practice squad.

Speaking on his Tuesday radio show, Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) said he still felt pain making "simple movements" in last week's practice, and that he's unsure if he'll be ready to face the Cowboys.
Rodgers far from ruled himself out, but sounded altogether pessimistic about his odds of returning. It was the first time he admitted to having pain in last week's return to padded practice. "Tried a lot (last) Wednesday, didn't feel good," Rodgers said. "Shouldn't be having pain doing simple movements. ... The scan last week did not show healing. We would need different results this week in order to play this week." Rodgers did say he wouldn't need many practice reps in order to be ready for Sunday. He is going to practice on Wednesday, and "try to do things I couldn't do last week without pain." It could change, but Rodgers appears less than 50-50 to return.

Guy can't handle his Randle's.

The comparison was for before OSU lost

They were being blamed for a weak schedule to prop up the SEC winner

When in fact FSU had a weaker schedule

Do I think OSU is deserving ? Hell no

All I'm saying is FSU also played in a weak conference and beat up on the Buffaloes of the world. Auburn may just take them to school

But FSU beat up on everyone. They annihilated the Top 10 teams they played.

Yes, I think FSU is very good. Just pointing out their ACC schedule.
No argument they deserve to be in this game. Not sure if any of the teams they beat are still in the top 10

Ohio State reminds me of Notre Dame last year. They managed to win a lot of games that were on their schedule. They deserve credit for that. Nevertheless, if they had played a top SEC team (take your pick) they would have been toasted. The SEC is on a different level than any other conference. Florida State is a special exception this year, though. They are SEC good.

If Frazier and Speilman are still with the team after Dec. 29th our next QB will be Brett Hundley. Bank on it. They run a similar offense as the Vikings do at UCLA.

Do you mean shitty?

Agreed. But a QBs character is more important than that of a DE.

Didn't Ohio State have it's 'championship game' and lose already? Why are people still talking about them? I don't follow college football much, but this doesn't seem controversial at all. If they had gone undefeated I could understand, but they just got smacked around by Michigan State. Wouldn't they be the Big 10 team to talk about now?

Agreed. I think a couple posts were either miswrote or misinterpreted.
I don't think anyone is pimping OSU. I used thier schedule (which is stronger than FSU's) as just a barometer.

There has been some talk of having Cassel be the starter next year, having a high draft pick QB watch him. I really don't think that is the way to go.

Would Russell Wilson be any better off right now, if he watched Matt Flynn for half a season, or a full season. Would Luck be a better QB if he had watched some average QB for a year or 2 ?

Cassel is an average QB at best, held back by slow foot speed, passes getting batted down, and at times, some poor decisions or poor throws.

From what I've seen so far, I would go with Bridgewater or Manziel in the 1st. Getting Manziel late in the 1st, if he has a Patterson type drop, could well be the S.O.D.

If not one of those 2, maybe McCarron in the 2nd round. I don't like what I've seen from Carr, and being related to a below average pro doesn't help his stock any.

Has Blake Bortles been discussed here ?

I like this play:

Odds are we aren't getting a Russell Wilson or Andrew Luck.

Just because a couple of the best QBs in the game were able to be successful early doesn't mean everyone is going to excel by being thrown into the fire.

Look at Geno Smith - there's a guy who really should've spent a year on the bench.

It hasn't hurt Peyton any....

In fact usually when you have athlete siblings, one is usually way better than the other.

Champ Bailey > Boss Bailey
Thomas Jones > Julius Jones
Santana Moss > Sinorice Moss
Dominique Wilkins > Gerald Wilkins
Horace Grant > Harvey Grant
Jose Canseco > Ozzy Canseco

So the big question is, was David the better or worse brother?

What good would that really do. Let's say he sits on the bench this year, and then next year has a year like he did this year, then he is a year behind in learning. I think you're better off getting them on the field and playing.

Peyton Manning is related to a below average pro (his dad).  He turned out ok.
Barry Bonds has a brother named Bobby Bonds Jr.  He turned out to be one helluva baseball player, even before he juiced.
Ken Griffey Jr had a pretty good player as a father but that Ken didn't hit home runs, Jr also has a brother named Craig that could get out of the minors.

Do not judge Derek Carr because his brother David failed.  They are two different people and we shouldn't be judging Derek's production based on what his brother has done.

That doesn't mean I think we should be clamoring for him...

But let's be fair and assess only Derek's skill on the field.  Leave his brother out of it.

I don't judge Peyton based on Eli's play and vise versa.

I think Archie was a pretty good QB (much better than Carr), and Eli has been pretty good in the post season.

I think it's likely that David Carr is the WORSE brother. From what I've seen, I'd only gamble on him in the 3rd round or later.
