Status: offline 		That is exactly why I can not get myself to cheer for that team. I think the only time I would ever cheer for them would be against the Whoiux. The Mavs were always chippy and cheap under Jutting and it appears it hasn't changed under Hastings.

Status: offline 		I made it home last night just in time to watch the game. I was expecting Mankato to really dominate puck possession and spend most of the game in our zone, but I really think we played them pretty evenly. Bitzer was a stud, he made some really good saves! I guess this is what we have with a young team Matt. We really are inconsistent, but I think we're building up something. We've beaten UND 5-1, UMD 4-0, and Mankato 3-1. When we show up and bring it, we can play with most anyone. That hasn't been the case the last 3-4 years.

Exactly man.  I don't know him but that's what I sensed.  Can be a terrific little player but doesn't show much in leadership.  In fact, I don't see anyone on the team doing it.  Guys that "should":

Fasching (albeit a SO.)
Wilcox
M Riley
Ambroz
Boyd

None of these guys are stepping up.  This is one hell of a Nat Champ nightmare hangover.

Sophomore Charlie O'Connor posts goal and assist for Beavers

BSU with a big upset over a strong Bowling Green team. Didn't see any of the game. We're the hottest team in the country and may be on the verge of being ranked.

Since my Gophers were their usual stinky selves, I watched most of this game. BSU played another good game and it appears last weekend helped them build confidence.

Status: offline 		Beavers had a big rally to tie Bowling Green last night. We scored with about 4 minutes left to make it 2-1, and Harms put in the tying goal with an extra attacker with less than a minute left. Getting 3 out of 4 points against them was a good weekend. Now, onto the road to face another top 10 opponent in Michigan Tech!!! The WCHA is still a grinder!!

Status: offline 		BSU is still just receiving votes in the polls, so we didn't crack the Top 20. We received 8 votes, which would put us at #25.

The Gophers are also receiving votes and would be #23.

Status: offline 		Kind of a head-scratcher how we're not ranked. We have wins over #1 Minnesota State, #2 North Dakota, #7 UMD and #8 Bowling Green. We also have a tie with Bowling Green. And a one-goal loss to #2 North Dakota. Our wins over Minnesota State and North Dakota were also convincing wins, especially the 5-1 pounding over No Names. We also have a win over St. Cloud State. Can't get any respect even though we're playing the toughest schedule in the country.

Status: offline 		It always seems like the loses hurt more than the wins help when it comes to rankings. They Beavers have proven they can play with the big boys when they are on their game. It looks like, just as the Gophers, they will need a tournament win to make the NCAA's though.

Status: offline 		Probably the under .500 record is keeping us from being ranked, even though our good wins probably rank up there with anyone else. If we wouldn't have laid an egg at Lake Superior, we probably would be ranked right now.

Status: offline 		No TV this weekend, but it looks like BSU gave Michigan Tech a good game last night. Fell behind 2-1 with about 10 minutes left and then allowed an empty netter. Hoping for a win or tie tonight.

Status: offline 		I guess that's the most successful 0 point weekend we could hope for. All the teams around us in the standings struggled as well. The big dogs are running away with the conference. The little weaklings continue to battle for 5th thru the basement. And we remain at the top of the list of weaklings. If Alaska finishes 5th and BSU finishes 6th, I guess that's the same as finishing 5th considering Alaska is ineligible for the postseason.

Status: offline 		Yep. It looks like Mankato, Michigan Tech, and Bowling Green will be the top 3 probably in that order. BSU, Ferris, and Northern Michigan will be 4-6, but where we'll wind up in that is up in the air. How we do at Northern Mich. next weekend will have a lot of impact on our final standing. Getting up to 4 would be best, but if we get to at least 5 we would avoid all of the big boys in the first round. We have really struggled to get points on the road this year, even though it seems like we are playing well. I listened to some of the game last night and it seemed like we were getting the better of the chances, but couldn't take advantage.

The BSU game just went final. 1-0 win. Bitzer has been special the last month and a half. Let's keep riding the hot goaltender!

We're now within 2 points of 4th place. If we get another win tomorrow, we'll tie Northern Michigan for 4th. We might even have the tiebreaker over them. That gives us a chance at a home game in the playoffs.

Status: offline 		Strength of Schedule loves the NCHC. Maybe a little too much. I think they're overrated. The WCHA is not that far off. All of the top SOS teams are NCHC teams. Bemidji State has the highest ranked SOS for any non-NCHC team, at #8 in the country. UMD has #1 SOS and SCSU has #2, followed by Denver, Miami, UNO, Colorado College and Western Michican. UND, even though in the NCHC, only manages a #10 SOS.

Status: offline 		Those SOS rankings I list above are according to RPI.

According to KRACH, Bemidji State's SOS ranking is #5. Interesting that UMD's SOS blows away everyone else in the country. UNO is #2 in KRACH, but wayyyyyyy behind UMD. SCSU is #3, Miami #4, and as I said, BSU is #5.

Status: offline 		5-1 win for the Beavers, despite being outshot badly. It feels good to have that go in our favor for once after our streak at the beginning of the season. We're really playing some good hockey right now. It's gotta be 4 more points against Anchorage next weekend.
