ORIGINAL: twinsfan Here's a good PPress article on the WCHA. The article is a few weeks old. http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_27372280/minnesota-state-mankato-leads-wcha-resurgence?source=rss A few years ago, the sky seemed to be caving in on the men's half of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. How could the storied conference possibly survive the loss of two-thirds of its membership? Minnesota and Wisconsin bolted for the brand-new Big Ten before the 2013-14 season, and then Denver, Colorado College, North Dakota, Nebraska-Omaha, Minnesota-Duluth and St. Cloud State answered by forming the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. That left only Alaska-Anchorage, Bemidji State, Michigan Tech and Minnesota State Mankato to pick up the pieces and carry on. It seemed impossible, yet with the addition of Alabama-Huntsville, Alaska-Fairbanks, Bowling Green, Ferris State, Lake Superior State and Northern Michigan, the WCHA is doing just fine. .... sigh I miss you, WCHA .... She was a hot girlfriend we all took for granted.
