2 articles from sports illustrated on the vikes (Smith and Joseph) this week.

Every teammate polled says Joseph is the strongest player they’ve ever met, including guard Alex Boone, who played in San Francisco from 2010 to ’15 and matched up with Joseph in the trenches. “You ever see a dude bench press 405 with his feet off the ground?” Boone says. “Most people do it with 135 pounds. Crazy. Strongest human alive.”

The Vikings aren’t shy about their aspirations. In the tunnel leading to the field at the newly built U.S. Bank Stadium, there’s a sign that reads: “Smart players make smart teams. Smart teams win championships.” Joseph, just one of two players on this roster with a Super Bowl ring, keeps telling his teammates about the potential he sees here. “I see a younger, better team now than I did with the Giants. Everybody wants to work together. Everybody helps each other,” says Joseph, who was on the New York team that beat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. (The other Vikings player with a ring, Justin Trattou, was on that same Giants team.)

Joseph is also a proud man who doesn’t want to see running backs pad their stats during garbage time. Surely he must feel some disrespect or crave the spotlight or long for the Pro Bowl recognition? He shrugs and says, “I feel like everything is going to come in time. I want to be better than last year, and if I am better than last year, it shouldn’t be a problem to get there. But the Super Bowl is bigger than the Pro Bowl. I won a Super Bowl, and I was so young. Winning another one would be big. Two Super Bowls.”
The thought lingers like the nose tackle in the middle of a scrum. Good luck trying to move him off his spot.

Some fun

0-3 converting turnovers. 2 of which should have been D touchdowns.

An o-line that can't block

Pass interference obvious to everyone but Philly coaches/fans and the idiot officials.

Quite a first Q

Only in MN.......one gets their hopes up and we get pulled right back into the cold dose of reality. We are truly getting close to the longest title drought for a title by a professional city (excluding the Lynx and the WNBA).

This is why I want to scream when someone from Minnesota says "gee I'm gonna pull for the Cavs or Cubs because gee, if they can finally win, maybe so can we"
Those successes by those pitiful losers just reinforces our standing as the best loser. Whee. Goody for us. 😡

Go 4-6 the rest of the way, we're playoff bound. I'm not worried.

One poster's first post game comments over there

Thielen was brutal.

That was, like much of brian dozier's season, the LEAST of their problems.

Pete Najarian just said the Vikes have the best TE in the NFL.

Are you sure he didn't say "a TE in the NFL"?

Way too much play action for a team that couldn't run the ball anyway.

Even on 3rd down and long. Stupid.

Zimmer goes off on the line and calls them soft.

Well..........

They did very little to improve a horse crap bunch. New line coach. Whoopee.

Exactly. Long play action fakes when your line sucks and they blitzing is pure stupidity on the coach. He puts us in no win situations all the damn time. You can tell he's like KA - "it's a good system when it's run correctly". Coordinate to your strengths dummy and don't try and make them do things they can't because it worked well with a Cowboys team that had the best line in football (no salary cap either).

Loved that one too.
Probably the same genius who wants to be called Nostradamus because he predicted the Vikings would lose a game this season.
Freaking genius.
Not that 99.9% of all teams DO lose a game or two, and we were ripe for that one, but hey, yeah, you ARE THE SMARTEST GUY IN THE ROOM.
Congrats, your presence here has been validated.

This weekend is WHY I really like to follow the Pats, the Yankees, the Spurs ....
Real teams who know how to win games, but more importantly, they simply GET how to play professional sports.
Its not a nice fest.
Or a popularity contest.
Or a game.
Its a business where success is the only measuring stick.
The Patriots don't allow upsets to happen very often.
They take peoples dreams and hopes and crush them.
Mn teams just stand around, wait for bad stuff, and then make excuses after.

Honest to god, I don't get the fascination with the NFL. Watched more of it today than I have since about 2004. Not a quality product.

They've suffered from the emergence of HGTV, obviously.

I'm whipped.

Enjoyed the Oilers/Jets game.

Obviously I'm the guy that's gonna watch any baseball game over any other sporting event. But both NBA and NHL are putting out more interesting games than the NFL. Fantasy football is (not quite) all that's holding it together.

NBA

The no defense league?
The "starts get preferential treatment more than any other sport" league?

The league with a few stud teams some good teams and a lot of terrible teams?

MORE INTERESTING GAMES?
