Planes, Trains and Automobiles, definately.

I was simultaneously amused and depressed by that one.

John Candy's character hit a little too close to home, Elliot?

Only 6 MLB teams have hit 4 home runs in a row, including the 1964 Twins.
Who were the 4 Twins?

Matt wins.  It was Oliva, Allison, Hall and Killebrew ... seems like an odd order, but that was it.

And the story goes, "Battey came up to make it 5 in a row....and he hit it off the wall!"  But Aaron Gleeman has successfully debunked this urban legend.  Battey struck out.  I guess it's possible he hit a foul ball that hit the wall in that AB....but I think Aaron may have confirmed that all 3 strikes were looking or something.

It seems odd that Killebrew would have been hitting 5th.

True, but not as odd as Punto hitting 2nd.

Aww, I too was stumped on Bueller.  Good call, DE.  And I agree with you.

Classic!

This isn't baseball trivia, but there was an actor in Sixteen Candles that was nominated for best supporting actor in a previous movie...can you name the actor and the movie he was nominated for?

Who hit the longest homerun in the history of the Alaska Goldpanners (a team that has had Barry Bonds, among many other greats)?

(hint, he played for the Twins and is in my top 5 favorite players of all-time)

Nope.  Try again.  He was a much better player than Shane Mack, himself.

Edit: Though Mack also was a Panner.

I can't think of the actor's name but was it the guy that played the father in Breaking Away?

No, I'm sorry, that is not correct.  The actor you are referring to is Paul Dooley by the way... and he was the Star Trek connection to the film Sixteen Candles.

How about Justin Henry? I found him in imdb.com , nominated for Kramer vs Kramer

That is correct sir!  Justin Henry played Molly Ringwald's smartass brother.

I guess I mis-remembered that.    (It was actually Barbara Barrie who played the mother who was nominated)

OK, here's another "Alaska" baseball question;

What two major league teammates (in the last 15 years) played together for the North Pole Nicks baseball team in the early 80's?  Both widely respected as "good" guys and solidly above average major league players for their careers.

Hint: one is a current MLB broadcaster, and one is still playing.

Edit: Actually, I think there may have been a THIRD teammate on the same team.

And lastly, I never even knew this until now, but what former Twins' great (pitcher) pitched for the North Pole Nicks at one point?  Hint: he's a favorite on this forum.

OK, sorry, really into this right now;

What TWO USC baseball coaches both played for the Nicks at one point?
