Berrios will make his first 2015 start for @RocRedWings on Friday at Lehigh Valley. Will replace Ervin Santana in rotation.

RHP Zack Jones, closer for @ChattLookouts, was placed on DL today after posting 12.96 June ERA. Gave up 8 ER, 4 BB past 2 outings (1.2 IP).

RHP D.J. Johnson was promoted from Class A Fort Myers to take Jones' place in Chattanooga.

RHP Dallas Gallant was activated off the DL at Fort Myers. Had made 4 rehab outings in GCL (1.69 ERA) after landing on DL 4 weeks ago.

Chargois now the front runner for AAA. Peterson is right there, too.

Jones DL with a strained R Groin.

What was her name???

Former teammate of Willie Banks' told me he went on the DL in rook ball from a "strained groin"...but it was one of those STD thingies in reality.

That sucks on Jones. I'm still hoping he can make it up to the Twins this season. He'd immediately help our pen a lot.

Back from the game. Pretty dang boring. Our work group was in the outfield "Home Run" porch. What a misnomer. I bet the two teams didn't even have 40 homers between them combined.
Wisconsin had two hits all game and the two innings they scored I don't think they even had a hit. Very few guys on either team had batting averages over .250. Like Dustin mentioned Cedar rapids hitters
look like nothing special, even Nick Gordon. Both of his hard hit balls were to the opposite field. Hard to tell if the pitching was any good as the hitters looked feeble although the Twins starter, Luke Westphal,
is from Clintonville Wisconsin and had a fairly large cheering section.

Word on hard-throwing Nick Burdi: he's going from AA to A to work on his slider and fastball command.

Thanks Kerry;

Westphal was demoted to CR after mediocrity in FTM........is

TWENTY-SIX

But he's LH and breathing, so he has a better chance than RHPs

Some video of some of the kids:

http://www.twinkietown.com/2015/6/28/8858683/through-the-fence-on-the-backfields-gcl-6-26-2015-and-6-27-2015-video

I'm going to try to make it down to FtM and catch a GCL game or two in a few weeks. Will file a report if I do.

I know most aren't Burdi fans, I'm a sucker for triple digit fastballs.

He'll play big league ball someday, may not be here, but he will.

Setting myself up for the inevitable Jim Hoey joke, I know.

I had such high hopes for Willie Banks.

Aren't we about due for a Willie Banks II prospect in baseball?

It's not that he doesn't have a chance (he does) but we have 3-4 other guys that are better than him coming that all throw triple digits or close as well.

The #ROCRedWings have released third baseman Ryan Wheeler. Batted .233 in 21 games. 1 HR, 7 RBI, .243 OBP, .315 slugging.

Not a good week for that fam. Brother was demoted to AA Chattanooga.

Santana looked ready in AAA too.  Still sucks in the big leagues.
