Failed to convert him to a starter; confidence was shot, so was his arm.

Nice work.

And so many of the others are on their way to his same fate.

Michael/Harrison/Williams/Pudge's kid are about the only ones left with any shot. And all but Harrison and "maybe" Michael are probably long shots at this point to ever be major leaguers.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/draft/index.cgi?team_ID=MIN&year_ID=2011&draft_type=junreg&query_type=franch_year

Really bad draft.

Sure a lousy track record from the end of the Jim Rantz era.

This new era isn't doing much pitching-wise, either.

That draft would look a "little" better if they got James Ramsey signed in the 22nd. Was putting up very good numbers in the Cards' organization. Less so now with the Indians, but still has a shot.

In comparison to 2012 (not a true comparison since we had a lot lower picks in 2011, I grant you):

Buxton
Berrios
Bard
Melotakis
Chargois
Walker
Z. Jones
Duffey

are the first 8 picks. And Rogers in the 11th.

I'd say all of those guys have a decent chance to be major leaguers, if not here somewhere, with the exception of probably Bard.

2010: probably ONE guys in the majors in Rosario. And a cup of coffee guy in Darnell (and Pat Dean). Goodrum with an outside chance.

Not good.

2009 got us Gibson and Dozier, so that one's looking good. Plus Herrmann. Nothing else.

2008: Hicks/Tonkin and as you mentioned Wong/Springer, but nothing else. I didn't realize we drafted Aaron Barrett that year. He's the cousin of a buddy of mine, pitching for the Nats.

It's still BPA, but next couple years I go heavily on:

arms that can help quickly over the next couple years. this team figures to be in contention over the next 4-6 years at least and you always need additional arms.
high-ceiling HS bats for the down the road. any guys you draft are going to be blocked for a few years (other than trade chips) at all but a couple of positions so build for the future wave when some of the current crop are approaching FA.

Of course we did. He went to a Kentucky school.

The Twins are absolutely horrendous at drafting and developing pitching. Name the starting pitchers drafted and developed by the Twins since Matt Garza.

I come up with NOTHING!
