SS Jorge Polanco remains day to day with a groin problem. Hasn't played in a week for @ChattLookouts

Jorge Polanco landed on the disabled list in mid-August 2013 with a right groin strain. So that's twice in 3 Augusts w/this issue. #MNTwins

Ed it looks like Michael is starting to get it....... Batting .260 with an .800 OPS. Maybe a late bloomer like Dozier. Send him to the fall league. Wish he could play SS.

At least some middle infielders are available and doing something in the minors...Michael, Goodrum, and Polanco (and Danny Santana).

Santana is still pretty young.....24 turning 25 in November. He sure seemed to take his defensive issues to the plate this season. Has got to let the game slow down. He has range and a great arm.

Santana has the physical talent....needs to work on the mental part....I think the kid trys too hard and cares too much---opposite of what Hicks used to be (didn't prepare or seem to care enough). Hicks has amped up his part, now Santana needs to be a little less fiery about things and not look like he is going to grind his teeth with every possible bad outcome....

–Class A Cedar Rapids first baseman/outfielder Trey Vavra underwent season-ending surgery last month to repair torn ligaments in his ankle. Vavra, son of Twins bench coach Joe Vavra, suffered the injury on May 26 while attempting to make a difficult catch near the tarp in foul ground. The first MRI showed a high ankle sprain, but a subsequent stress test revealed the ligament tear. Vavra was hitting .346 with a combined on-base/slugging percentage of .944 in 42 games. He is receiving winter-ball interest from Melbourne of the Australian Baseball League.

–Class A Cedar Rapids right-hander Michael Cederoth returned to workouts with the club on Wednesday after being placed on the disabled list on June 6 due to what the Twins termed “illness.” A third-round pick out of San Diego State in 2014, Cederoth told The Cedar Rapids Gazette he was been out with “a personal illness I’ve had over the years. I want to keep that to myself, but now it’s completely taken care of. There shouldn’t be a problem anymore. It’s something I’ve dealt with throughout my life. It was more than baseball.” Cederoth, 22, went 1-4 with a 4.08 earned run average in 11 outings this year.

He is hitting innings limits the Twins have set.

Why are those bullets being used in AAA??

MONEY

Sadly the Twins continue to use that in some cases as an excuse for not getting better.

Yes, they spend on pitchers.

But they spend,as noted here many times, foolishly.

Then wring their hands over bringing someone like Berrios on-board, to add to the 40-man,and start his clock.

They are a very confusing bunch.
