Chris Paul already bumped up to FTM, was just drafted last year, 6th round, from Cal

Shouldn't be so shocking...he's 23, will be 24 this fall, so he SHOULD be able to move up quickly. Plus he's a 3B/1B guy.

LaMonte Wade(22 yrs old), also drafted last summer, looks to be ready to move on to FTM as well, hitting .368 at CRapids with 9xbh in 15 games, 6BB/5K. Played OF at Maryland.

Personally, I'd like to see Nick Gordon move up by the all-star break if he keeps hitting like he is, .349 right now, in 15 games, 5 doubles/triple/HR/8RBI. Just 1BB, 9K, is the only "worry".

Nick will be 21 in October. He's progressing nicely.Don't see a reason he should stay at FTM all year. There is no one blocking him.

Twins like Vielma(at AA). That's fine. Tovar, who now they like as well is at AAA.

Move the others around. Make room.

Felix Jorge 7 shut out innings for FTM tonight.

They're in the 11th. FTM has ONE hit(Nick Gordon, of course)

Santana another o-fer. Has yet to get a hit in his re-hab assignment.

LOVE all the pitching prospects

WISH the Twins would advance some

HOPE some even pan out

AFRAID Ryan will trade the wrong one(s) for some filler bullpen help for the big club.

Berrios Can Save The Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins have stumbled out of the gate after winning 83 games in 2015. The Twins have lost 11 of their first 16 games, scoring the 7th fewest runs (53) and are middle-of-the-pack in pitching Run Expectancy Wins (0.16). In a division brimming with gifted teams, including reigning World Series champions Kansas City Royals, prolonged losing will only further ensconce the Twins in the cellar of the American League Central.

Twins’ starting pitching is not entirely to blame, however. Though far from a bastion of domination, Ervin Santana, Ricky Nolasco and Phil Hughes—who earn a combined $34.7 million in 2016—have performed well over 10 starts. But the Twins still presently lack a true ace.

At least, at the major league level.

Twins’ prospect Jose Berrios is one of the more electric pitchers in Triple-A. Through his first three starts, Berrios, 21, has struck out 20 batters and limited opposing hitters to a .143 batting average against. After posting a 2.62 ERA over 75.2 innings at Triple-A in ‘15, Berrios’ success this season is not unforeseen.

Berrios can dial his fastball to upwards of 96 miles per hour and boasts a “plus curveball and above-average changeup,” according to ESPN’s Keith Law (insider needed). In terms of his arsenal translating to the next level, Law said, “[Berrios] has the command and control, the secondary stuff and the poise to succeed in the majors now.”

Considering baseball is 20 days into its season, the Twins can recall the former-32nd overall pick without prematurely starting his service time clock. According to MLB rules, a player must accrue 172 service days (there are 183) in a major league season to count towards a full service year. Even if Berrios were to get the call tomorrow, the Twins have already gained an entire additional calendar year of team control by waiting more than 12 days into the ’16 season.

Duffey and Berrios had better be in this rotation by midseason. And my dream rotation for next season would be:

1 Berrios
2 Duffey
3 Meyer
4 May
5 Santana/Hughes/Nolasco/Gibson

Another reason it's good to be left-handed and breathing

@Adams_Steve
I'm told LHP Andrew Albers is returning to the Twins on a minor league deal.

Albers, 30, was a 10th-round pick of the Padres back in 2008 but wound up pitching on the independent circuit in 2010. The True Gravity client parlayed impressive numbers in the Can-Am Association into a minor league deal with the Twins back in 2011 and rose through the club’s ranks quickly, reaching the Majors and tossing 60 innings for Minnesota in 2013.
Albers recorded a 4.05 ERA with a 25-to-7 K/BB ratio in those 60 innings, and he spent the 2014 season pitching in the Korea Baseball Organization before returning to North America to pitch for the Blue Jays.
Albers struggled at Triple-A and in a brief MLB stint with the Jays last season and again turned to the independent league over the winter.
He made one start for the Atlantic League’s Lancaster BarnStormers and fired seven shutout innings, yielding just a hit and a walk with nine strikeouts before this new agreement.
