There was zero chance that a guy like Terry Tiffee, with a last name like Tiffee, would ever have a long career as a professional athlete.

Alex Karras used to say that the Lions QB, Milt Plum, had the best arm of an QB he had ever seen but never had that long and distinguished career that he should have had given his name. Who names their kid Milt....Milt should be inside practicing the violin and then having afternoon tea instead of being outside playing tackle football in a lot strewn with rocks and broken glass. Alex said that maybe if he had been named Jack Kong Plum he would have made it.

I looked up Rochester's player roster and stats for the 2016 season. They list six players as second baseman and only one, Heiker Meneses, (he of the .091 BA in 44 Rochester AB) as a third baseman. So Sano at third base is a perfect fit in Rochester. With the Twins? ehhh

Twins first-round pick Alex Kirilloff has been with the E-Twins since Saturday, but on Wednesday, he finally made his professional debut. He batted sixth and was the team’s DH. It didn’t take him too long to record his first hit. He lined a single to center in his first at bat. He went 1-3 in the game and will likely make his first start in the outfield on Thursday.
