Polanco should be added to roster for today's game. Are the Twins going to send Vargas down again or make room by releasing Belisle instead?

The right move would be Belisle...so they will demote Vargas

Decision time is certainly looming for the Twins in the MI. By the middle of next year at the latest IMO, they're going to have to make a trade. I still think, as much as I'll miss him, Dozier makes the most sense.

Gordon at SS and Polanco at 2b for the next 6-7 years.

Mauer at 1b for 3-4 more until Sano moves to 1b and, hopefully, a guy like Javier or Blankenhorn takes over 3b.

Murf's right though; still need a longterm C.

How awesome is the minors' OF Depth??

Lookouts announce that OF Ryan Strausborger placed on DL. They have signed and activated OF Andy Wilkins.

28-year-old Wilkins hit .125 in 26 games for the Brewers last year & .140 in 17 games for the White Sox in 2014. Hitting .318 for Sugerland.

Gary Gaetti is still the manager of the Sugar Land Skeeters. Joe Benson is an OF on the team.

I know you love Joe, but I don't think he's a Twin after next year.

If Terry Ryan were still here running things , then I could see a 7 year extension. But I have a feeling Falvey and Levine aren't going to go down that road.

As long as he keeps playing as he has this year, a 3-4 year extension would be a no-brainer. There aren't really good 1b options on the open market, we have no one in-house that can capably play 1b (don't give me Vargas as an option). And he's huge for mitigating the limitations defensively on the left side. Plus, he could then retire a Twin.

I don't really see a good alternative to extending Joe (again, assuming he keeps this up) out there. Not sure what the numbers would be, but I bet he'd take another hometown discount. Maybe $10-12M/year?

The #MNTwins have signed RHP Tim Melville to an MiLB deal and assigned him to @RocRedWings.

More dumpster diving.

There was a time when I could play both sides of the fence so well. What happened????

I agree. Extend Joe. But I'd have to say the hometown discount should be in the $6 million per year range.

You don't get a GG-caliber, .750-.800 OPS 1b for $6M/year. IMO . If so, great.

And before anyone chimes in with "well, Joe should be willing to take less because of what he's made the last 6-8 years", just remember that he was way more underpaid his first 5-6 years than he's been overpaid for this time. That's just the nature of baseball's system.

Not that again.
Not without at least mentioning why doubles are better than Home Runs again.

That was pretty funny.
Had a similar interaction with my wife this weekend.
I was DL in that one.

Wife: Maybe we should see a Marriage Counselor
Me: I'm fine

Now we're good.

I said her idea wasn't stupid like I said.
She said maybe it was.
