NO

I'm not saying this team can win it all. Right now, they're not ready to swing w/heavyweights

BUT

if you add the right parts,a nd remove the dead weight.

Add McCutcheon, maybe he lights up the AL, and is the mentor buxton needs every day.

Wouldn't that have been worth something?

Andrew McCutchen had 2 more HR on Tuesday. He's now hitting .408/.503/.736 since May 24. All 3 of those lead the majors.

He's done!
He sucks!
Why would we want him?
"you're an idiot if you think McCutcheon is any good"

Funny how experts love to spew, but never clean it up.

How is it that Haley is in AAA? I thought he had to be on the roster or offered back?

They sent him down because he isn't scheduled to pitch again until after the All Star break. The plan is to recall him for his next scheduled start after the break. They want to keep on a regular schedule.

But aren't they using up an option on him in doing so? Meyer has been optioned so many times in his career you would think he has none left.

Not sure what his option situation is, but this is not the first time they have done this with him this year. The plan seems to be to try to get him over the hump by keeping him in a routine. The kind of outside the box thinking that Ryan was incapable of. TR just kept shifting him between the bullpen and the rotation. Myers seems a little fragile between the ears, but it would not surprise me at all if the Angels turned him into a decent starter.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think "options" work this way. You can bring a guy up and send him down as many times as you want during a season and it counts as just one option.

That is correct.

My guess is this is Meyer's last option year.

At this point they can send him up and down as much as they want for the rest of this season, and it has no impact.

Next year they probably won't be able to send him down at all, assuming this is his last option year. I'd have to do some digging to figure that out, and I'm too lazy.

Then it looks like they plan to ride the option train with Myer for all it's worth this year. See if he can gain consistency by pitching on a consistent schedule.

Melotakis 2IP H/3K

I still find this whole Melotakis thing to be a head scratcher. I read that his fastball velocity slipped, but they promoted him to AAA as they were designating him for assignment. In AA, his WHIP was below 1 and he averaged well over a strikeout per inning. He has yet to give up a run in AAA and still averaging a strikeout an inning. PLUS HE IS LEFT HANDED. Hell of a gamble that appears to have worked out as he was unclaimed. Right now he looks like a guy who should be considered for promotion rather than DFA'd.

Only 1 for 3? Oh well, it was a good run while it lasted.
