+++Byron Buxton was still looking for his first hit (through eight at-bats) since returning to Class A Fort Myers after a two-month absence with an injured left wrist. Reports on Buxton had him being "a little rusty ... a little pull-oriented," Antony said, but his wrist is fine now.

I'm guessing he is still favoring it a little afraid he might reinjure it

Diamond continues to impress at Rochester.

I can certainly see why it was such a difficult decision for our brain trusts Gardy and Anderson to select Gibson for the rotation over Diamond.

Diamond needs to be released. What's the point in continuing to run him out there in the 2nd half?

This organization is mind-numbingly dumb. What the hell are we waiting on now with Meyer? Makes no sense at all.

This team is going to lose 90+ games at this rate this year. Even if they lose 80, big deal. That's like getting a 3rd place ribbon. Lose with PURPOSE for 2015 and beyond. Let the kids play. I am just fine to stomach the losses if we are giving time to the kids and letting them make their necessary adjustments so they can be ready to compete and add to contention in 2015 and beyond. To continue to play vets for some delusional hope of competing in 2014 is insanity.

Trade Willingham, Correia, and Suzuki. Play Pinto, Hicks, Meyer, Arcia, Santana (when healthy), and Tonkin. As soon as May is ready, call him up too. Let these guys play so they can be ready and add to the core when Buxton/Sano are ready next season. Otherwise we're going to be breaking 10-12 guys in (Rosario/Vargas/Berrios are all inching closer) at the same time. That's stupid.

Exactly. Deal with the growing pains now. It will hurt less.

This front office and coaching staff is just plain dumb.

Or is it because they are forcing him to go the other way and he's struggling with that?

The potential for silliness with this organization is high so that scenario is entirely possible

I agree about Willingham, Duensing to Milwaukee for a power RH relief pitcher and Correia for Jon Jay....not so sure about Suzuki....he was been hitting Mauer-like behind the plate. Doesn't mean that Pinto shouldn't be our 2nd catcher though.

I still think if you keep three catchers.....you move Mauer to Left or Right Field DH Pinto when he isn't catching and have Morales at 1st. With that lineup you don't need much of a bench:

1. Santana/Esky
2. Mauer
3. Dozier
4. Morales
5. Plouffe/Nunez
6. Suzuki
7. Pinto
8. Arcia/Nunez
9. Jay

Parmalee, Nunez, Esky, and Hermann bench guys.

Trading for Jay would be one of the dumbest thing this organization has done, with no contention this year and Buxton/Hicks/Arcia/Rosario all nearing or already ready.

Suzuki playing well is exactly why you trade him now. Sell high. This organization never gets this. Suzuki is playing above his head, just like Willingham was 2 years ago. THAT is when you deal a guy, not wait until he's fallen back to normal and you get nothing for him.

See what STL will offer for Suzuki. They won't re-sign him in the offseason, so go back and get him again if he really want him.

yup, what i wrote yesterday holds

I know it is 0% but if Ryan had any foresight at all on how to incrementally fix things with his 40-man roster and organizational depth he would call up the Cards and ask for Randall Grichuk the OF for Suzuki....no great shakes as far as being an uber prospect but he could play centerfield for us and not embarrass himself. And what the Twins are trotting out there as far as outfielders and outfield defense is embarrassing right now.

Just was looking at it as far as being realistic and what the Cards had an excess of. With Suzuki being a free agent after this season and him just being a stopgap option, very short term for them, I saw a match to them with outfielders. They have a ton of good prospects there, Piscotty and James Ramsey (and Tavaras).

But this is all wasted typing. The Twins view Suzuki as a long-term piece right now. I have no doubt of that.

I am thinking they are just waiting til after the all star break. Suzuki is one of two all stars on the team. We don't want to trade him away and cost him is chance etc...

Nah, that's just makes too much sense. You're right Stacey. They are working on a 5 year extention. Pinto will be traded by Spring Training and will go to some other team, hit 30hrs a year, be a perenial all star and we will get some relief pitcher that will make absolutely no impact in return.

Agree. Surprised they haven't signed him to a two year deal yet (although there is ZERO reason to do so before the end of the year).

Yep. Suzuki will be re-signed. Idiots. The Twins are like the worst stock market players you'd ever see. No idea how to value players at all.

Twins management looking to future instead of the immediate present.

You guys are killing me.

Twins trade an all star like Suzuki (even though it makes sense)

Twins trade a potential solid to very very good catcher like Pinto for a so so relief pitcher.

Now that is a deal that TR, Gardy and Perkins can get on board with.

Nice. Move him up to Rochester with Rosario and Vargas after the break. Move them all up to the Twins in September.

We don't do that here, history shows we wait until value is at an all time low. Then put the guy on the block and get little or nothing in
Return. Terry Ryan endorsement. Still can't believe he's still th gm.

I should amend my statement; move them up from NB after July 27th, when I will visit. Then I can see them in Rochester in August.
