Was Mark trying to tell us that they used the term "13-hitter" in the old timey days?

Actually, I remember the announcer jokingly calling it a "13-hitter". He also said it was nothing Jim Kaat would be proud of, yet he stayed in the game, pitched 27 outs, and got the victory.

No, but I can tell you with 100% certainty they did use the term "9-hitter". Nine hits allowed in nine innings pitched with two BB and nine K's is a solid performance. But you and I both know that NEVER happens any longer.

either that, or they'd say "Scattered 9 hits"

Jeffers HR #3 at MW League. They're short on catchers. Rodriguez was recalled from FTM

How about you bump some from Eliz/GCL up and bump Jeffers to FTM?

That's quite a shuffling of players who will never see the inside of a major league stadium without buying a ticket.

Sweens,

I am a little confused in trying to figure out your point in your recent posts.

Can you clarify?

Lewis is looking like he might have 20+ homer ability by the time he reaches the majors. I know HS players are all about projectable skills as they get older and stronger, but it still boggles my mind that he basically hit no homers in HS. Isn't this just a little over a year since his HS graduation?
