More good news for our top prospects; Kohl Stewart dropped from his start because of a sore shoulder.

OK. Wait.

Swarzak did fine in his spot starting duty, but Why...exactly...was Meyer not brought up to make this start?

I'm glad Andy and Gardy didn't get their hooks into him to be sure, but still.

Just 21 but the initial tea leaves reading for Max Kepler long term is he is going to fall by the wayside eventually.

He is always nicked up as well.

Not enough power for a corner OF or 1B position.

Needs to stay on the field and pick it up a notch.

Berrios looked good tonite. Not flashy, topped out at 90/91, and used curves and changeups. Very simple motion, reminds me a little of Micheal Nakamura. First couple of innings did not have great control but got much better. Is pronounced Ba-REE-ose. He easily outpitched Portland (RedSox) big prospect Henry Owens.

Nice, Mike. That's awesome. I wonder if some are juicing the gun on Berrios, because he was about the same when I saw him in Ft. Myers. Sat high 80's, low 90's, though that was a hot day game.

BTW, are you going to Sunday's game in NB? I'm planning on going so if so we should meet up.

I'm assuming they have Thorpe on a pitch count/workload limit, Ed? Sure seems like it this year.

To djskillz: don't know whether I'll be at NB game on Sunday (maybe family considerations). For Portland (RedSox) watch for Blake Swihart, their future catcher; good looking hitter. For NB, Kvasnicka has raised his average from around .150 to .270s in last month or so. Good looking hitter and good OFer. He was first-round Houston draft pick a few years ago; I think he's from Minnesota.

A question Ed. Why don't you include your boxscore summaries of the minor league players on the Twins general talk thread? The Twins roster is filled with minor league players anyway.

He should be in Eliz, but had a shoulder issue in the offseason, so they've moved him off 3rd, playing OF/1B,and he's hitting ok.

But I'd rather he was in rook ball, and a guy like Max Murphy was in CRapids. Please, while some "kids" are struggling and you dont' want to upset the cart,Murphy should not be in Rook ball, with 10 HRs.

UPDATE: So we know... Max Murphy (@murph_max) to Cedar Rapids, and Jason Kanzler (@JasonKanzler) to Ft. Myers. More to come?

I checked and the Miracle released Nate Roberts.

Another injury filled career of a college draftee comes to an end in the MN org.

Tough to read anything into his future yet, though he's doing ok. He's only 18.

Hey guys; made it to New Britain on Sunday. Mike, sorry I missed you if you were there. Big rain delay but ended up being a nice (though hot/muggy) day at the park. I figured it'd be a good chance to catch them again before their move to Hartford (not sure the timing of that, Mike).

4 of our first 5 could acquit themselves okay on the Twins. 1-Polanco, 3-Rosario, 4-Vargas, 5-Hicks. Polanco looked like he was holding his own fine. Rosario/Vargas/Hicks should all be at AAA or higher by now IMO. Polanco did make one boneheaded play of a steal at 2b (overslid the bag) that ended a rally with 2 outs and a man on 3rd. I had to leave after 8 unfortunately and they blew it in the 9th. Vasquez was very erratic with his stuff on the mound. Struck out the side one inning but a lot of hard hit balls throughout. I think Hicks is just too patient to be at the AA level. He's drawing tons of walks there. Kvasnicka did look solid out there, Mike. And yep, the SeaDogs are loaded; I've been to a couple of games of theirs this year because Portland's one of our venues. Would have been nice to take one.

Overall a fun game/trip though. Going to catch the Twins in September and Rochester hopefully in a few weeks to close out the year hitting all affiliates this year.
