New Britain broadcasters also said updates on Buxton will come through Twins and not the minor league team. Terry Ryan is in New Britain.

I hope Mr. Buxton is ok - sounds like a bad concussion. This freakin' franchise is cursed! How can one team get so many concussions to their star players??? (

VP Mike Radcliff tells me Buxton "was responsive after the collision" according to reports he'd received from Buxton's agent.

Either way shut him down for the year - It's just been a lost season for him.

Nick Burdi (@NickyBurdi19) struck out two in a scoreless inning in his Hi-A Ft. Myers debut tonight.

Burdi showed a good feel for his slider. Slowed it down for a back door strike, sped it up for a swing-and-miss K. A real weapon tonight.

Hate to say it but I bet he has TJ surgery before he pitches in the big leagues - THAT is the real Twins way.

Probably. SHOULD finish the year in the FTM playoffs, then start AA next year.

At a minimum

New Britain broadcasters also said updates on Buxton will come through Twins and not the minor league team. Terry Ryan is in New Britain.

This is absolutely horrible when it happens to anyone. It's our luck that it's our #1 prospect aka #1 prospect in baseball. History with Joe and Justin has shown that concussions can affect long term performance. Hopefully Byron doesn't have their concussion history ahead of this one. That makes a big difference.

Check out the video on either strib or minor league baseball.com.

The best Buxton news is that the CT scan is negative, and he was able to sleep at home last night. His girlfriend is there w/ him.

Told Buxton is doing ok this a.m. No shock that he's a little sore. Obviously, the concussion will keep him off the field for now.

Twins had better take Buston out of their plans. This guy is not very smart. You have to use some discretion when you are playing baseball. No fly ball is that important worth putting your body and that of a teammate's at risk.

I'm not going to get on Buxton for trying to make a play, Mauer for getting foul tips in his face, or Morneau for...running, I guess.

Generally, you want guys who will play hard, don't you? We trashed Delmon for not trying in the outfield (and appropriately so).

Yes. Get on Kvasnicka, he should be dogging it, knowing the prize prospect is near. Give him a wide berth.

Should be that way through the system. Designate the "hands off" guy, and tell the other team to leave him alone.

Put full body armor on so the designated player can't get hurt while playing hard.

Trying hard and playing smart are not mutually exclusive. First game at AA New Britain. Learn who you are playing with. Did he bother to tell the corner OF that any ball that is between us I will go after and you stay away? That is smart baseball.

I guess Torii Hunter is one of the stupidest players to ever play baseball and Delmon Young, one of the smartest. Dude, you are really reaching on this one. If he comes up here and makes sensational diving catches that take hits and runs away from the other team, you better still be bitching about how stupid he is. At least you won't be a hypocrite that way.

Do you know that he didn't say that and the other guy kept coming anyway? Do you know for a fact that he didn't call the RF off and the RF kept coming anyway? That would make the other guy the stupid player. Or maybe one or the other called and the other didn't hear. You can talk and discuss all you want, but sometimes instinct takes over for both players.

But jeepers Wally, Buston is still recovering from sore wrist(s). When does he learn to play and allow his body to heal. Seems to be diving out of control for a ball is a good way to reinjure your sore wrist. Bottom line, you cannot fix stupid.
