Salt River 7-3 win

Rosario is a LF at this point, batted 2nd 2-5/R/RBI/SB(2), Kepler 1-5/R/Assist@3rd

Rogers 2.2IP 3H/R/2BB/3K
ZJones 2IP H/BB/3K

Of course....we have a second baseman. No need in adding value to Rosario for a trade or a trade of Dozier.

Pretty soon, Sano will be in the outfield, Rosario, and we will move Buxton to shortstop.

Maybe they have Pinto schedule to pitch and trade him to the NL........he can be a pitcher and bat cleanup.

The Twins are sure expecting .270-.280 from Pescky-bar from here out with 30 doubles or more every year.

Seems like a lot of eggs in that basket.

Then you MAY have Polanco

MAY have Levi Michael.

MAYBE

So Rosario is already done at 2nd. Trying to cover up one blemish with movement of another guy.
Continued indictment of upper level talent that went nowhere.

It's ridiculous. Rosario is so much more valuable as a 2b. Unless they're just that worried about his trade value due to the suspension, etc. I'd still keep him at 2b as long as possible for depth and work out as many kinks as possible. He could play LF in the majors today. Don't see the point of wasted development time there.

Love to see Jones doing well. He's my boy in relief. Just needs to stay healthy, like any pitcher.

Rogers is Nick Blackburn II to me in many ways.

Lefthanded for Rogers. His ONLY advantage.

Jones? Burdi? Both should be in the bigs this year. junk some of the flotsam and move them up.

KC does it. Younger arms don't waste allthose innings in the minors.

How's that working for them??

Didn't realize Tim Wallach had a son playing C now. Chad is on the Salt River roster. Looks like the kid can hit. Just A+/A ball so far but .811/.906 OPS's this year.

Yep. Especially with the high velocity guys like that. There are only so many bullets in those arms. Injuries WILL come. Use those bullets in Minnesota and not Ft. Meyers and Chattanooga.

Yep. Ditto for Tonkin IMO. He should have been up all year learning.

Edit: oh, this coming season. I think Tonkin will be with the big club all year or at least most of it. But I would have had him up this past year.

Should have been up all year.

But the awesome ex-manager decided he couldn't trust him. Brilliant talent evaluator. What he doesn't have another job yet? Unreal.

The thing is all these development decisions bleed into the future. They delay the process. We all know or at least hope we are going to have a very good window here with Buxton/Sano and a whole bunch of talent around them. But we keep shutting that window with stupid decisions.

Tonkin could have been acclimated and ready to rock next year. Now we go into 2015 unsure about him.
Hicks we could had up all year and known fully what we have by next year. Now we go into 2015 unsure about him.
Santana we could have known what we have at SS. Now because of a UTIL guy like Escobar we go into 2015 unsure about what he provides there.
Pinto
Meyer
May

The list goes on and on. Frustrating as hell. As one bright poster always says, WHAT THE HELL ARE WE PROTECTING HERE?

I would have been absolutely fine with the 2014 season, with this same record, if we had at least done the developing of the guys above in the process. That we didn't is an absolute travesty.

Its ALL 2014 SHOULD have been about.
Instead, we waste it thinking we are in some faux pennant race for half the year.
Surprised Cueball laudner hasn't thrown his dunce hat in the manager pool yet.

All because they didn't want to "rebuild"or even hint at "rebuilding".

And the personnel decisions to prop things up turned out so well.

You had a manager who thought that he could somehow take the product and make it many times better than the reality of the situation.

Thank goodness he's gone. But that shouldn't have been it. The GM that helped on those decision processes still is around to eff it up more.

Dustin, you noted that you would argue with many of the ratings I've assigned. I forgot to ask you which ones you would change. I'm curious to know.

Still waiting, Dustin. This really shouldn't take long. You don't even have to worry about the zeroes. They didn't make the majors.

Matty. You're just making we want to wait on doing the rankings now.

Agreed guys. And seriously, can we give the fans (even our sheople) SOME credit? People damn well know we're rebuilding. You certainly aren't "competing" after you've had 3 straight 95 loss seasons. They could have easily been up front about it this year and wouldn't have had any "fan revolt" or some such thing.

I could not care less about runs.
What matters is getting guys on base.
Give me 8 base runners over 2 runs any day of the week.

Gotta move those runners over, Murph. Productive outs and walks.

Not sure where "HR's suck" started, but I don't ever see anyone saying anything along those lines.

The fact is that "lots of baserunners" generally is a better indication of a team scoring runs than "a lot of HR's". They're both very, very good things. We should come together on this and embrace both.

Salt River down 4-1, only 2 hits thus far, by Buxton/Kepler. Rosario has the rbi and another stolen base.
