ORIGINAL: jimbo Congratulations twinfan, enjoy the season. You should get to pick good seats. I was going to ask Matt if they raised the prices on him....but I just don't care enough right now. They have to ace the managerial hire and FA for it to move the needle for me.....if not they might draw less than 5k for most games. I would say acing the managerial hire and FA is a statistical impossibility at this point. Rowson or Shelton. Some logical FA that get them into a reasonable spending range and contend. Logically I would go to a game to watch Jenkins, Buck, Keaschall, Lewis and hope either Pablo or Joe are starting. There is talent but it isn't like they needed to spend a ton the last offseason. A RH bat, another pitcher like Singer for the Reds, a 1B, and a solid backup catcher that could hit. Same issues exist going into this season. If they don't want to compete with a respectable salary range I am not interested in going to any games unless by chance or luck I am in the Cities. They are willing to interview Nick Punto, Torii Hunter for the Manager's job. Both would cost quite a bit less than Rowson or Shelton. And there is no way they go all offseason and keep both Pablo and Ryan. They will do what they always do with FA, let anyone truly talented be picked up by other teams then scrape the bottom of the barrell for the scraps and pray they catch lightning in a bottle. And they need a LOT of help to contend. Especially in the BULLPEN which the FO willfully decimated at the trade deadline. They aren't interested in adding payroll to get into a solid respectable salary range. They are looking for ways to dump more...which is why Lopez and probably Ryan will both be gone. Of course this exact scenario wouldn't suprise me. Exactly what I stated it would take for me to somewhat care other than boxscore and an inning or two of watching each game. I do have more hope that Falvey can build a BP than he does finding the SP, Catcher, 1B, and RH bat that I listed.
