I'm really starting to hate this team. I'm sick of watching Edwards and Randle take turns playing iso ball, while the other team moves the ball constantly for open shots. I'm sick of Randle's inability to play team defense. I'm sick of Finch's inability to get these guys to play any form of cohesive offense.

Of course there is more to it. Trading Towns for what we received back is still the biggest issue. The Knicks are loving the trade.

It would have been wiser to trade Gobert for a couple bigs and a ham sandwich.

Or not to have acquired him in the first place.

So many things wrong. Rudy has taken a step back. Conley looks really old. McDaniels has plateaued. The team offense goes in fits and starts with no rhythm or scheme. The team defense is completely out of sync. They give up tons of open looks. Even Ant is off. On a night when he scored 53 points, Ant was outclassed by Cade Cunningham.

This is my main beef as well. Ant and Randle are like, we each need our 20 shots, so we’ll take turns, this possession is mine, next one is yours, etc. But there’s no chemistry between them, and the rest of the team stops and watches as well.

I’ve been critical of this style of offense forever when team revert to it at end of games. If it’s that great of an offensive strategy then why not do it the whole game? Well now the Wolves are doing it virtually the whole game, with predictable, ugly results.

I've never seen an NBA team so dedicated to dribbling into corners, traps and double teams. Last night Detroit had constant ball movement. They possessions where the ball never touched the floor. They made quick decisions and kept the Wolves scrambling all night. The Wolves all catch the ball, stop and think. Ant never just catches and goes. He stares down the defender and either tries to weave through 4 defenders or step back for a 3. Randle tries to back defenders down 30 feet.

Honestly, we probably should not have done the Gobert trade and moved KAT a season earlier.

Of course KAT is balling out in NY. He's back playing Center, they've played an incredibly weak schedule and he's been mostly guarded by Centers. That's how he thrives.

Now look at the last game against OKC, where the Thunder treated it like a Playoff game. KAT had 17 points. Zero 3 point attempts. Guarded by a shorter but powerful and willing defender KAT loses his best weapon. The 3 ball that opens up his entire game. Why did his numbers go down here? Because he was not guarded by slow bigs on every possession anymore.

That's been his career. He destroyed Steven Adams in the Playoffs, so Memphis put a smaller defender on him and took him out. Same thing last year where Gafford (who?) and Lively (who?) completely dominated him.

KAT is a special regular season player when he has a quickness advantage. But as soon as you take that away, his game falls apart. He doesn't have a quick enough trigger on the 3, so smaller guys can recover and crowd him. And he's not quick enough to blow past non-centers.

Our biggest problem this year is we don't have a PG. Conley aged 10 years over the offseason and his only back up is a (super talented) injured project. No one else on the roster can throw a pass to Rudy that he can catch, and we have no one who can deliver a pass into a shooter's "pocket" which is tanking our shooting %s.

Ant needs to play with a PG that can control a game and that can speed him up.

This is a must watch.

Ant played really well last night, and made so many excellent decisions, only to have the rest of the team fail him.

Can The Wolves Help Anthony Edwards?

Conley’s decline is a huge factor, probably as much as any other single factor. He covered up things last year with super effective play. This year he looks old.

The fines are silly of course. This is 2024. Bleep out curse words if you don’t like them.

But Ant is admittedly being silly too. Just don’t curse to the media. It’s not that hard. Be a grown up.

So yeah, the whole thing is just stupid on both sides.

What does it being 2024 have to do with anything? FCC rules still apply. Just because a foul-mouthed POS like Donald Trump has made vulgarity part of the American brand doesn't mean we all need to follow along.

He's getting surgery on his wrist after he retires.

That should really help the next 1.5 years of his career.

I get that you're a little slow to pick up on things, but his problems go well beyond his wrist.

And even if the problem was just the wrist, it still doesn't change the point that he has declined this year. I'm not assigning blame. I'm just pointing out a fact.

I'm saying that it's really easy for outlets to edit video and audio to remove offending language. I could do it right here at the computer where I sit.

And read my entire post. I said Ant needs to grow up too. I called whole thing silly on both sides.

We scored 7 points in Donte's 6 minutes.

Right now we have as many TOs (6) as made FGs (6).

They righted the ship after another bad start. I think coming off the bench benefitted Conley.

I still don't like Randle. Even on nights when he puts up big numbers, the offense seems constipated when he's on the floor. He gets completely lost in team defense.
