Vineeta said Randle might be trade bait.

We can only hope.

I've heard the opposite. Ive read the Wolves have circled the wagons around Randle. Even Doogie says there is nothing brewing.

Nothing brewing because no one wants him? What I see from Clark, Garza, and even Shannon......I would trade him for less value. We were +34 with Clark on the floor--just so good defensively and good IQ.

Julius Randle did us a favor and got injured last night. It's amazing how much better the Wolves played last night after he went out. On a night when the Wolves won by 25, Randle was -14 in just 10 minutes. Luka Garza stepped in and scored 16 in his place.

The flow of the game is so much better. I think they did an interview after the last game and Rob was asked about the game and he stated how easy it was to play. I bet he meant when Randle was out....lol

He has been very good situationally against Phoenix, GS, Denver, and Cleveland. Teams with a good defensive PF like Memphis (JJR) eat his lunch.

It doesn't take a team with a good defensive PF. There are games where Randle is pretty well self defending.

After finishing tonight’s game in Utah with 36 points, a season-high 11 assists and 3 blocks, Anthony Edwards becomes the first player in
@Timberwolves
history with 35+ points, 10+ assists and 3+ blocks in a single game.

They actually have had him be like a 'point forward' at times. Bringing the ball up court. I think this is a good idea, because will actually reduce the times when the ball is passed to him and the offense stops while he tries to back a defender down for 10 seconds. When he initiates, it goes much better.

I love Randle in that or any other role....on a another team.

Another game. Another embarrassing loss. Honestly, this is starting to look more like the season after the Wolves last trip to the WCF. There is a clear lack of a good second option. Mike Conley is pretty well useless at this point.

Right now, I am thoroughly unimpressed with Tim Connelly and his "blockbuster" moves.

Yeah, there's not really a difference between a PG and a PF. So I just call him a PG if he brings the ball up. It's his best position by far. He's a good passer.

No. He has the same issue from last year.

An arbitration ruling to decide the fate of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx could come at any minute as the deadline for a decision is Monday, February 10.

Jon Krawczysnki, during a Monday appearance with Dan Barreiro on KFAN-FM 100.3, said the winner of arbitration — Glen Taylor vs. Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez — needs to be revealed by the 10th.

"I think by this time next week, Dan, when I come back on the program, we will have an answer to that question. At least of who won the arbitration. But I think it's going to go right down to the wire here. Maybe Friday, Maybe Monday of next week is the 10th, I think that's the absolute deadline," Krawczynski said. "Everyone is on pins and needles around the organization. Nobody knows what's going to happen and we are all just waiting with bated breath here."

Rodriguez and Lore, along with new partner Michael Bloomberg, apparently have $940 million ready to be wired to Taylor to complete their purchase of the franchise at the originally agreed-upon cost of $1.55 billion.

Taylor backed out of the deal in March 2024 in a move that stunned Rodriguez and Lore, eventually leading to arbitration beginning in November.

The decision could come down to the interpretation of one clause in the purchase agreement. Lore and Rodriguez contend an automatic 90-day extension to complete the purchase should have been triggered when they submitted paperwork to the NBA and were waiting on approval last year. Taylor argued that Rodriguez and Lore could have been granted a “limited extension” under specific circumstances, but that those circumstances did not occur.

"If Glen Taylor wins, he just keeps the franchise," Krawczynski said. "If Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez win, they still have to be approved. They will be basically granted that 90-day extension to finish the acquisition that they said that the contract entitled them to. They'll have to go through that whole process, be voted on, do all of that stuff. If they win, they are not immediately in control. That will still take some time."

Since the sale process began years ago, the valuation of the Timberwolves has risen to $2.94 billion while the Lynx are valued at $85 million, according to Sportico.

This may be a pick one STD vs another scenario, but I hope Lore and A-Rod prevail. I think Taylor boobie trapped the deal just so he could pull something like this. As I recall Lore and A-Rod wanted to just buy team in one transaction. Taylor was the one who insisted in this transaction in stages format.

They were late on payments and Taylor saw they had a chance to win it all.

That's just it. They weren't late. Lore and A-Rod submitted in enough time to trigger the 90 day extension that Taylor had written into the contract. The NBA wouldn't approve Lore's preferred equity firm, the Carlyle group, so they partnered with Dyal Capital Partners from the NBA's pre-approved equity firms list and submitted ahead of the deadline to trigger the 90 day extension.

If that is the case then they should of won months ago (so it doesn't seem to be the case).

I wonder how much of the teams' frequent lackluster performances are because this crap is hanging over its collective head.

That's not how contract law works. If there is a dispute in the agreement, there is a legal process that is followed. First the parties go through mediation. If that doesn't work, they go to binding arbitration. Both parties submit all kinds of documentation in support of their claims. The arbitration panel goes through all of that and compares to laws and to precedents and renders a decision by a an agreed upon deadline. That's what's happening now. The fact that this wasn't decided months ago doesn't mean that Lore and A-Rod were late.

Sources: A team that made a last-ditch effort near the deadline to engage the Phoenix Suns on trading for Kevin Durant to no avail: the Minnesota Timberwolves.
