…and he had a wide open drop. I jinxed him.

The QB looked pretty good overall. He would look even better with receivers who can catch the ball.

Sounds like Koi Perich will be used on Offense some this year also.....what I never get about PJ is the most important (offense) player, Taylor, had 30 rushes versus a non conference opponent.

The Gophers dominated the stats. But settled for FGs 3 times, failed on 4th and inches in the red zone, and Buffalo’s only two big plays were an interception that was a total fluke and long TD on a DB lapse. They won but didn’t quite cover the spread so put in category 2 of my post above.

Lindsey did pretty well overall. He’s got talent. I feel like there’s plenty there for the coaches to work with. PJ really let him have it on the sidelines after the near int in the end zone. Understandable that it’s a pet peave of his. End zone turnovers are among the most impactful yet preventable plays in football. You just can’t have it. But I like what they did after that. They came out in the 3rd quarter and Lindsey threw 2 darts for long completions. Teach him, then move on and show him you still have confidence in him.

One area that needs to be cleaned up is the drops that occurred last night. There were a few in the ...Oh my God catch the f***ing ball ...category.

First play. Gophers intercept for a pick six. This game should be over by halftime.

It took six seconds. I’m thinking that must be the fastest TD in school history. It would take longer than that to run back a kick for a TD. It would have to be exactly as this happened. A touchback which takes no time off the clock. Followed by an immediate turnover and short run back for a TD.

Edit: or else a turnover TD on the kick return, obviously.

21-0 not even 10 minutes in. Total yards 94 to -11.

I’ve never seen a more mismatched game.

35-0 in the first quarter. Oh the joy of playing a human sacrifice.

So similar to last year. PJ runs Taylor too hard early and misses a couple games.
QB really played well Saturday.

Well.....that escalated quickly

What dumbass calls a handoff 5 yards deep on 4th and 1 inside your own half against the #1 team in the nation, on the road and in the first half? No need to answer.

Did the same idiotic thing last week. Fourth and a foot just across midfield and they called a run out of the shotgun that lost a yard. Rutgers took advantage and the short field to score a TD right before the half.

Koirala Perich bails us out with a pick 6. Gophers win.

Well every now and then you have to pull out a game you have no business winning. That was the Purdue game in a nutshell. I'll take the win but it feels like they're still miles away from being a contender. You don't win many games with virtually no running game.

+1
The Oline is horrible at run blocking and ok to good at pass blocking. Redone Oline was moved around before the OSU game.....

I wouldn't say ok to good on the pass block. They were less bad on pass block.

Lindsey made a lot of bad decisions. On the game tying drive, he was helped out mightily by the 2 facemask penalties. That drive would have died at 4th and 11 in Gopher territory if someone hadn't facemasked him while he was already being sacked. The Gophers pulled this one out of their asses despite being dominated in the trenches.

He was forced to hold the ball---the line actually gave him time this week and also gave him decent time against OSU. There wasn't any separation at OSU and very little and more time against Purdue.

The talent is very young at QB, Oline, RB, and WR.

The line had moments when they gave Lindsey some time. He also under duress quite a bit.

The point being---For not being able to run at all and give him any time to throw is a miracle.....especially against OSU.
