I was kind of shook when they were showing Hynes' post season stats. He was 0 - 5 (now 0 - 6) when facing elimination, and his other post-season stats were not good. Is it time for a coaching change?

There's never a bad time for a coaching change in the NHL.

Shocking stat I hear and had to look it up because I thought "no way". Shots on goal:

KK = 0
Zuc = 0

We're really going to pay this guy 17 mil moving forward? Oh my

Yup, Kirill on a 2 on 1 in OT and instead of shooting he passed off to Boldy.........the very next rush the Avs bury it for the win!
Good thing it's only money.

Gotta point out that KK is second in playoff scoring and second in playoff +/-. With Ek out of the lineup, it was a lot easier for the Avs to key on him.

Oh my, thank God! I didn't see the press conference but after BG held it, I'm hearing that the assumption on what he said, is that they are finally realizing the Captain tree on this team sucks. Look, I really appreciate what Spurg has overcome and brought to the team, but he was never Captain material. I've been on this since day 1. This team has never had a true C that can get you to win a cup.

His contract is a bigger issue than the C. Same for Gus Bus.

Spurgeon has 1 year left at $7.5 million and a 10 team no trade clause. I don't see that as a problem.
Gus just signed a 4 year deal, so he isn't going anywhere for a while without his approval. We need 2 good goalies so we should be good to go, assuming his surgery and recovery goes well.

Oh, maybe I wasn't specific enough. Not necessarily getting rid of him but appointing a new C.

Even only 1 year left on Spurg is too much as he hasn't been that player for 3-4 years same goes for Middelton and Brodin.

My priorities for the offseason:

1. extend Hughes
2. get rid of Gus for whatever you can get
3. #1 C
4. upgrade the D. Get rid of Spurg/Brodin and 1 of Midd/Bogo
5. resign McCarron

My priorities for the offseason:

1. extend Hughes--agreed this is top of the list
2. get rid of Gus for whatever you can get---not sure if he is tradeable right now
3. #1 C----Mathews? Thomas? Nico Hischier?
4. upgrade the D. Get rid of Spurg/Brodin and 1 of Midd/Bogo---I can see a big change on the blue line this off season
5. resign McCarron----a big wish, but we may get out bid on him

Brodin is a possibility......Spurgeon I just don't see a way at his salary----Middleton looked shellshocked during the playoffs. Whiffing on moving the puck multiple times.

Spurgeon has only one year left at $7.5M. With the salary cap going up $9M and assuming the other team sends out salary in a deal, it shouldn't be that hard to move him.

Never imagined Vegas would beat the Avs and they go for the sweep tonight

I've been harping on BG upgrading the overall backend so I looked at the difference between the top 4 DMen for both teams.

Vegas:
6'4 215
6'3 206
6'1 202
6'2 200

MN:
5'10 180
6'1 200
5'9 166
6'2 196

Yes, no doubt, we need a true #1 C but this has to be addressed or we go nowhere.

We can reasonably address the defense issues without gutting the teams prospects, but getting a 1C is going to cost way more than we should be willing to part with at this time. For as long as this team has gone without, I would rather get another top notch 2C and roll than gut the teams depth for any of the true 1C's out there right now.
Guerin really blew it when he sent all of those assets for Jiricek. If we still had them we would be closer to having what it takes to get a 1C in trade.

I feel dirty wanting Vegas to win tonight, but I love reading about how the great Avs are just average without Makar and MacKinnon.

Just makes it all the worse that the Wild couldn't do anything against the Avs.

I would say we could, but didn't. Vegas showed us what happens when you play the right way every period. We only played that way a few periods and it wasn't close the rest of the periods.....
