Taurasi reminded me so much of Kobe last night. Not only as the leader of the team, but also the facial expressions after she thought she was fouled and didn't get the call

Poetic Justice to see the Lynx in a televised game exact some serious revenge on Taurasi and the Mercury. The Lynx won by about 60 While holding Taurasi under 10 points. Maybe we are not dead yet.

TJSweens -> RE: Minnesota Lynx (6/29/2009 12:05:54 PM)

Poetic Justice II. Somebody from the Mercury stated after Augustus was injured "we broke them". Apparently that didn't sit too well in the Lynx locker room. I think we are seeing the difference in being deep and talented. Wiggins was a marquis player out of college in her own right. Anosike and Houston are emerging players. Kelly Miller is a hard nosed vet and leader who still has a lot of game.

BTW watching Taurasi, while someone else was shooting a FT they showed her and I could read her li[ps saying "F***king *itch"

I don't care about that. I cheered relentlessly for KG who has the foulest mouth in all of sports.

Jim Frenette -> RE: Minnesota Lynx (6/29/2009 7:07:34 PM)

Tim you're reading way to much into that. I don't care what she says, it was more of a surprise then anything else

TJSweens -> RE: Minnesota Lynx (6/29/2009 8:24:26 PM)

Sorry Jim. You're right, I read to much into it.

kgdabom -> Lynx in First (6/30/2009 8:07:18 PM)

Lynx win again. They played awesome for awhile but got sloppy late. Hit lots of threes. Five games after losing Augustus Lynx in first place all alone in the west.

Not bad for a team missing their best player.

TJSweens -> RE: Lynx in First (7/1/2009 11:42:43 AM)

Wiggins is really breaking out. Hodges has come out of nowhere (previous best season average 7.5 PPG). Anosike is turning into one of the best post players in the league.

kgdabom -> RE: Lynx in First (7/3/2009 9:59:55 AM)

Lynx lose at home to the 1-8 Monarchs???? We only scored 68 points? Blew a five point late lead to lose by six to the Monarchs? WTH is going on?

Hard to win when being out rebounded like they were especially on the offensive end. The Lynx had 7 to their 15. Second chance shots add up

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Lynx in First (7/3/2009 8:33:55 PM)

Many of these players are straight out of college and are not yet used to this grind of a longer professional season.  In college, some of the games are against cupcakes, but in the Pros, even the last place teams have good players.

TJSweens -> RE: Lynx in First (7/21/2009 8:15:25 AM)

Nicky Anosike and Charde Houston named to the All Star team. Nice validation that the team is finally more than Simone Augustus. There was a pretty interesting article on Houston in the Pioneer Press the other day.

Nice to see both these second year players recognized

Notably absent from the All Star game is Candice Wiggins. Not that she deserved to be there but she was the best of the three last year and since Augustus went down Wiggins has fallen apart. This is very troubling. Houston had one of the best stat lines of all the players in the all star game and looked very comfortable playing with the best in the world.

TJSweens -> RE: Lynx in First (7/28/2009 8:29:48 AM)

While the Wolves are waiting on Ricky Rubio the Lynx signed a Spanish star of their own.

The Lynx signed Hannah Montana??

Oh wait...

Anna Montanana...

Never mind.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Lynx in First (7/28/2009 7:37:42 PM)

[sm=Funny_post.gif]   As they say on KFAN, "I always loved that one!"

kgdabom -> RE: Lynx in First (7/29/2009 8:52:47 AM)

I remember that mnay Lynx fans were joyful about getting Pringle for Ohlde. Now pringle has been cut to make room for Montanana.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Lynx in First (7/29/2009 9:53:05 PM)

I heard someone say addition by subtraction with regard to Ohlde.  I don't know, myself.

TJSweens -> RE: Lynx in First (7/29/2009 10:36:02 PM)

Ohlde was a wimp and I am glad they traded her. I have been uniformly unimpressed with her since Janel McCarville smacked her around the post in the NCAA tournament,

kgdabom -> RE: Lynx in First (8/3/2009 9:07:04 AM)

Last time I checked the Lynx had fallen to 10-10. They still have a chance at making the playoffs but for all realistic intents and purposes this season is over. We hung tough for a couple games after Augustus went down but could not sustain. The thing that is most disturbing to me is how badly Wiggins has played. I thought she was a star but without Augustus she has been terrible. One piece of good news is that it looks more and more like Quanitra who raised a lot of eyebrows when we picked her is looking like a player. Get Augustus back healthy next year and maybe we can do something then.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Lynx in First (8/3/2009 8:56:31 PM)

Every year is a disappointment with the Lynx.  Kind of similar to the Wolves.  Maybe it's bad fortune.

kgdabom -> RE: Lynx in First (8/30/2009 7:29:44 PM)

I just thought that I would update the tragedy that has befallen another once promising Lynx season. 12-17 and looking on the outside of the playoffs.

Matt Dahl -> RE: Lynx in First (10/27/2009 12:02:26 PM)

Amazing. How are the Lynx doing this season?
