I love it. I guess I think differently. I like examining a play to figure out what the right call was. Sometimes even in slow motion it can not be determined, but I love the controversy and appreciate what the refs do, because overall they do a great job. Most of all, I do want to see the right call made so that the outcome can be fair, especially if it is a competitive game. If the score is 21-0 I probably already changed the channel or turned the game off if my team is losing. And if it makes the game last longer, that's good too. It prolongs what is one of my greatest pleasures. How can I dislike that?

100% with you on that.

The replay review is really fun for group conversation. I also find it helpful for learning intricate rules.

I always get a kick when it's clear the announcer doesn't know the rules

ESPN's Mike Clay reports 14 running backs played all 32 regular season games from the start of the 2019 NFL season to the end of the 2020 season.
Here's the thing: None of the 14 backs are starters. It's a remarkable stat demonstrating the attrition rate among those playing football's most brutal position. The 14 running backs were Peyton Barber, Gus Edwards, Nyheim Hines, Ameer Abdullah, D'Ernest Johnson, Devontae Booker, Royce Freeman, Dion Lewis, Mike Boone, Giovani Bernard, Alex Armah, J.D. McKissic, Alec Ingold, and Keith Smith, per Clay. 2020 saw top-tier running backs demolished by injury: Saquon Barkley tore his ACL and missed 14 games; Christian McCaffrey was out 13 games with various ailments; Joe Mixon's foot injury cost him 10 games; Austin Ekeler hurt his hamstring and was out for six weeks; and Chris Carson and Miles Sanders each missed four games. Meanwhile, 20 wide receivers played all 32 games from 2019 to 2020, including Amari Cooper, Robby Anderson, Allen Robinson, DK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett. The league expanding to a 17-game regular season makes it even more unlikely running backs -- and anyone else in the NFL -- can get through an entire year unscathed.

All told, about a 2nd round pick. A little much IMO.

Bill Jandro -> RE: Other NFL News (4/5/2021 8:35:37 PM)

The Jets are reportedly getting a sixth-round pick in 2021 and a second-round pick and fourth-round pick in 2022 out of the deal.

Thats quite a bit being he is only signed for this season

Panthers have already said they’re picking up his 5th year option, so he’s essentially signed for 2 more years.

The former NFL player in the news for murdering his doctor and his family in N.C. is here in this video chasing Jarius Wright on a TD that I'm sure you remember.

Perhaps a big problem for the Los Angeles Rams.

Sheldon Richardson was just released by the Browns, too bad we already spent our wad.

We could still use a good backup. We can't get everything we need in the draft. Too many needs, but I do believe the team still has money to sign players for smaller contracts.

Aaron Donald is not such a bad guy after all.

Amazing what video does to change a story.

Aaron Donald is "not such a bad guy"? What about he "is a good guy"? The video shows that dude getting kicked in the head by a guy who could probably play professional soccer. Delivering them so fast. The only thing that stopped him was Donald's intervention.

Donald may have saved his life or prevented him from becoming a vegetable.

Goes from being thrown out of the league to NFL Man of the Year in one fell swoop.

Those extremes balance out nicely.

Taunting a point of emphasis this year.

What charities do the fines go to? Should be a lucrative year.

TBI and addiction is a frequently death-dealing combination.

Very sad news indeed.

There has been at least some weeping and gnashing of teeth over the Bears getting Fields and us not getting him. One preseason game but here's what he did against the Bills.
9-19 80 yards. That's under 50% completions and only 4.2 yards per attempt. QbR of 59.1.

On the bright side he ran the ball 4 times for 46 yards.

marty -> RE: Other NFL News (8/21/2021 8:26:42 PM)

Fields came in when his team was way down, Dalton put the Bears in a good hole.

For what it's worth, the best rookie quarterback I've seen so far is Zach Wilson. That kid looks very talented.
