How will the Vikings adjust to all of the speed and quickness of the Chiefs playmakers?

How are we gonna hide Rhodes? Or is he going to turn it around? Today will be interesting for sure.

I think we should employ bump n run coverage. KC's wr's are small so disrupting their routes with a S over the top would be a possible strategy. Being they have a couple backups playing on the oline our pressure could be the difference.

Like it Bill.

The left side of their OLine is banged up, as they start both backups. Everson should thrive, however I’d like to find some penetration from our under tackles in the pass rush.

Like to see Barr swinging around their left side in the pass rush as well.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 9:09:13 AM)

Guessing KC for the most part runs a 3 wr set and Kelce. McCoy is also a good receiver out of the back field but i think he has probably lost a step or two getting up there in age.

So i can see why Zim activated H Hill. We made need him if Rhodes grabs his hammy early after getting beat.

If we play a soft zone (which Zim always seems to start games with) and Moore gets the ball out quickly to these speedy guys they are a threat with running after the catch. I have a feeling this is what Zim will do afraid of giving something up over the top. Underneath stuff
would be there for KC. Also negating our pass rush.

I remember years ago Arif was soliciting money (or someone on his behalf was) so he could afford to remain at TC to continue covering the team.

Just heard him as a guest on the NFL Network (ch88) being interviewed about the Vikes. He did a nice job.

Arif has been grinding. I have tremendous admiration for him.

Grinding is a good word to describe it

That whole mess is on ZIMMER...

OUT COACHED and needs to take full and ENTIRE blame

Ragnarök -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:27:49 PM)

Our post season really took a huge hit today, lose next week to the Cowboys and we are at best someones post season wild card bitch in a one and done if we even sniff the play offs...

Well, the Vikings are who we thought they were. A team that beats mediocre teams but doesn’t have the “it” factor that’s needed to win the tough games. Instead, they always find a way to lose them. So we’re looking at 3-4 or 4-3 the rest of the way out. 50/50 shot to make the playoffs then a quick exit. The only suspense is will RS and Zimmer keep their jobs if the team finishes 10-6 but misses the playoffs? 9-7 finish and they have to be fired.

GopherFan34 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:31:08 PM)

about choking in a big game. Stafanski looked in over his head today. That TO was the dumbest call I have ever seen.

Im not fully sure it was all on playcalling by Stef, I think Zimmer was very heavy handed on what p[lays were called and was even noted he was fuming through first half we were being "too cute" on offense, pounding his HC fist to run the damn ball more...

We'll be free falling with a loss to Dallas. The schedule doesn't get any easier and Zimmer and Cousins don't seem to have it against winning teams.

This game had the red-faced Garden Gnome's fingerprints all over it.

Arlowe84 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:38:06 PM)

This team has ignored the d line for years in the draft, instead wasting picks on overrated corners

We see this team time and time again having large stretches with no pressure on the QBs

They finally got pressure when they blitzed today

Defense starts up front. Ask San Francisco

Ragnarök -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:38:26 PM)

This is about the point where Zimmer goes to presser and throws the OC and player effort under the bus...

That happens and its season over on another promising waste of time

Running plays: Seemed we liked to go to the short side all the time. Pitch it out to wide side and let Dalvin do his thing.

Play action: Not having Thielen killed us. Diggs was well covered and nobody else stepped up as the game went on.

Screen game: Pretty good. Bradbury has a target on his back(penalties).

Ragnarök -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:44:12 PM)

For all those that will come in and point out that "they didnt expect a win on road against a good team"

The sky really isnt falling... it was an expected loss and we still are in great position to grab a wild card spot and back into the playoffs to go and face a division winner in their house and.... oh shit... well maybe next year...

I don't know. Odenigbo and Griffen had good days. Hunter always creates hurries and QB hits.

GopherFan34 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:49:57 PM)

Our defensive tackles get no pressure unless it's third and long.

And that is when we sub in pass rushers for them.

Its schemed that way, thats philosophy on coaching

Richard Neussendorfer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:54:41 PM)

I cant believe we lost to a team with a terrible defense and a qb named Matt Moore! Ouch! We gotta get the next game. However I think it's going to take 31 points from the offense to do it.

Ragnarök -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:54:57 PM)

Our HC works really hard at scheming our best play makers out of plays at key points

Richard Neussendorfer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:55:34 PM)

And works hard at calling timeouts when it appears we made a play.

Richard Neussendorfer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/3/2019 3:58:36 PM)

Either Zimmer cant teach corners or Waynes can't grasp his teachings. Hes so terrible when the ball is in the air. He looks like a college freshman just learning the position wrt playing the ball. The shame of it is he would be amazing if he knew how to turn the head and track the ball!
