Interesting to watch how the Panthers play the Pack today with McCaffery at RB...

Nice to see the lowly Falcons kick Saints ass...

Getting ready to make that 4.5/5 hour drive on I-35 from San Antonio to Dallas to catch the SNF game!

Hopefully the drive back Monday will be pleasant because of a VIKINGS VICTORY!!!

Safe travels and hope you have a blast!

Made it to Dallas, getting ready to hit a local pub before the game

I thought Erin was going to be called for intentional grounding and a resulting safety ...nope, bogus roughing the passer call.

If you were to make a training film of how to avoid being penalized for roughing the passer, that would be exactly how you'd want it done. But, because it's Erin, they call it rtp.

Dana Turner -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/10/2019 5:40:00 PM)

How do you beat the Chiefs, well, you run for 225 yards. Damn, the Titans just smashed the Chiefs on the ground. I'd like a do-over {:~)

thebigo -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/10/2019 5:46:20 PM)

Packers gifted another FG by the refs.

Pager -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/10/2019 5:50:44 PM)

Derrick Henry 8.2 ypc and 188.

Cook had 3.4 ypc and 71.

Man, Blake Bortles is the consummate pro. Never gets his head of the game and clearly considers himself a starter in this league because he is clearly in midseason form even-though he hasn't played. Had to go in for Goff for 1 play and promptly throws a pick. [&:]

Backbreaking flag on Panthers if they threaten too much, followed by "catch-up" flags on the puckers once no comeback is possible.

Pager -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/10/2019 6:00:34 PM)

Why go for two there?

Total head scratcher there! Just proves that these types of decisions get made by many coaching staffs, not just ours. Unless the kicker is hurt, it makes absolutely no sense.

"The total winning probability is now 62.5% when you go for 2 (50% from making the first conversion, 12.5% from splitting conversions and winning in overtime), versus only 50% when you kick extra points."

What is the two point conversion rate in the snow and on the road?

odin -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/10/2019 6:58:44 PM)

Good point any one situation it might not be best.

And there is the problem with the over-application of analytics. All things are NOT equal.

There are many upsides to applying analytics in finance, sports, etc. But that whole "there's a 71% chance of conversion" or "the winning percentage goes up by XX" is situational as much as anything. The Vikings' odds of converting 4th-and-1 last year was significantly below any generated success rate because the line was horrendous.

Assume a static economy......

Huge! I still wish we could do something to get the defense cranked up.

thebigo -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/10/2019 10:38:12 PM)

As much as it kills some here, this win puts the Vikes in the drivers seat division wise, 4 of last 6 games home games, including all 3 division opponents at home. Packers 4 of last 6 games on the road.

I don't remember our coaching staff making that stupid of a go for 2 point decision.

It's really strange seeing our defense struggle so much. I would love to see both units playing well in the same game!

Was it? They've done it a bunch recently.

Thank you Jason Garrett for running 2 plays in a row when we had no clue how to stop the pass.
