Hard to see how someone could say Kirk has no heart. Maybe he chokes, but not because he doesn't care or he's no committed....

Great post.

I thought the Tin Man was a great comparison, Kirk is stiff and looks rusty at times, very animated in his moves and needs oil when gets stuck in pocket and and sacked, often stumbling and fumbling. The heart point is that I think it takes heart to Drive a team, put it on your back and will a team to wins without coming apart and screaming at your teammates, pointing fingers and curling up in a ball.

“Heart” is the word we use in sports when we see athletes give it all they have, often resulting in sport performances way above what was ever expected. Athletes who play with heart are usually laser-focused, intrinsically motivated, excited about winning, and resilient toward setbacks and failure.

To play with heart means to give so much of yourself physically and mentally during the game that by the time that by the time the clock expires, you can confidently go within yourself as you walk back to the locker room and be proud of your efforts.

This is what true leaders possess, that inner fire inside their gut that ignites right at those moments when driving for game winning score seems physically impossible, yet they somehow seem to always find the strength to give 150% every time that they set foot on the field – refusing to let anyone else out play or show more heart than them.

Yes, I think TIN MAN fits perfectly...

But you may also choose Scarecrow or Cowardly Lion I guess if you think those better fit...

What's the point of being able to review PI calls if the officials won't overturn obvious missed calls?

And of course we got called for OPI on a review where they weren't even looking for it...

The reviews have become utter nonsense.

Perriera
At least admits when they get calls wrong now. Well, he tempers his statements with "IMO", but says coaches like consistency, even when review outcomes are obviously bad. Really?
I highly doubt that. What a farce!

He also said Rogers "gave himself up when he dove forward" What?

Glad that pick wasn't called DI, sure looked like DB was early!
In Green Bay? That was shocking!!
Karma Baby!!

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talk (9/27/2019 10:19:33 AM)

Loved the Puke losing at home. Where was their vaunted defense?! And run game? They were banged up in that game, too. Their OL is gonna melt down over the course of the season.

The reviews by officials are crap.

Still pisses me off we got jobbed so bad when we played there.

PHI should have challenged that one pass late. I know it's only 8 yards, but still.

Loved that it ended on an INT by Rodgers. He is such a douche.

First and goal inside the 5 twice at the end of the game - no points! [&:]

Sendejo....the unguided missile. Sheesh dude.

Sandejo is a big hitter (of both teams playing) and is a servicable player.

I thinking saying he should be thrown out of football is a bit harsh. As long as he can make a roster he has every right to earn a living doing so. This is still America.

His propensity for helmet to helmet hits and then not understanding why he got penalized for it makes him a very dangerous player. Serviceable is a bit generous when describing Sendejo.

THIS!!

So glad he's gone.

Oh...and PHI going for 2 there was dumb. Go for 1 and go up by 8.

Being emotional can go so many ways, those who play with heart as above dont let the emotions become bigger than the task at hand.

What does this being America have to do with anything?

There are still rules and codes of conduct. If you're out there continually doing things that hurt other players (and yourself) AND you show absolutely no remorse (or even understanding of why its wrong), you shouldn't be allowed out there anymore.

Playing football is a privilege, not a right.

Does anyone here think the idea of a Diggs trade has any merit? Winning team, huge contract, part of Vikings family...

Where does this tripe come from?

The identity of the team right now does not showcase Diggs talents and we will see how that continues to play out in his frustrations (seems an ingrained quality/flaw of many top receivers)... There was a small tiff at start of year that got quietly buried... If he isnt happy on the Vikes we will start seeing more tight hamstrings and pics of him in other teams uni's as his Brother posted in past...

In my opinion Diggs' value will continue to go unrealized until Swirvin' Irvin gets the top TE spot and sees the bulk of the targets. Diggs' footwork is second-to-none and he can get open all on his own - and does. The second aspect of his game that the current offense fails to take advantage of is how well he can run after the catch. For this to happen it is IMPERATIVE that the team employs a TE that threatens downfield further than five yards. This will open up the shallow crossing routes for Diggs. These three-to-seven yards deep patterns will yield 10-to-30 yards after the catch regularly.

It all hinges on 84 replacing 82.

Totally agree, Rudy is the one who should be all over Trade Talks...

Unfortunately so much is being made of our 70s style HC and his offensive mandate that we will continue to see these crazy ideas of dumping key pieces of a high output current NFL style team in favor of reliving the past... ONLY TO BITE US IN ASS WHEN THIS REGIME LEAVES AND WE ARE BARE OF TALENT.

not happening... but heres another pipe dream...

How about it being simply his hammy was hurt early in the year and it affected him against GB and he played better against Oakland.

I'm not sure that Rudolph is even our second best TE right now, much less our best.

Quiet on Twitter for me. This is all I found:

Matt Birk on KFAN said the 2019 #Vikings have a lot of big names, but they need their star players to step up and have their best games when it matters most.

To be honest the pass interference reviews are the dumbest thing the league has ever done. Just cuz the poor Saints, who won a SB on refs, get hosed once we gotta change the rules? Its becoming painful to watch an NFL game. Missed calls happen. Deal with it.

On an FAN opinion board it is quite common to lament a position, especially one as key as QB, with many differing views no one will ever see eye to eye... Remember many of you were on the wrong side of the Ponder debate for some time...

Fans are passionate and sometimes the passion spills over into being critical of what we see as points of contention holding our team back from attaining the ultimate goal.

I have my opinions and post data or articles that support my stance... I do not take personal shots at other posters, be rude or condescending of their views.

We all contribute to this page, from many walks of life and viewpoints, I myself appreciate everyone's views and platforms... hell I even occasionally find myself swayed by others and admit to myself I was wrong after taking in all.
